I love the whumpy aesthetic of a character looking at their own hands in horror, trying to comprehend potentially irreparable damage.
Are they looking at a heavily burned or a bleeding, deeply torn palm? Broken, mangled or maybe severed fingers? A bullet hole? Someone else's blood dripping down their skin?
It's such a good way of marking a point of no return.
