We're all messed up.

Tyler: I know I’m messed up, I’m a weird dude, but it means a lot to me to look at you and know that you’re messed up too, I feel good about it.
Interviewer: Is it truly that you see yourself as messed up? Or is it just like being quite harsh on yourself, being critical
Tyler: I think to myself, that I should be able to control myself right? It’s very simple I look at like that lamp and I know okay when I walk out of this room, I’m not supposed to hit that lamp. So I stand up and walk out of the room and I don’t hit that lamp. Why can’t I make decisions like that with everything in my life. You know? Like Im not going to get angry at my brother. I want to be the best brother. Don’t you-do you have siblings?
Interviewer: I have a brother, yes.
Tyler: Okay, do you think that you have been the best brother?
Interviewer: not by a long shot
Tyler: Not at all, right? It’s like, why can’t I do what I want to do? If I want to be a dad one day, I want to be the best dad. And I’m not going to be the best dad, and that’s messed up. It’s messed up. That means, If I were to take how I treat people around me, in the same way that I treat a social setting, that means I’m standing up right now and I would kick that lamp over. Because I-there’s something wrong. Something is broken- and the way that we live is proof of that. That there’s an element there where something’s not right-Its not right
