Read my pinned post, please! Am Wizard. Creachurs Welcome. Transphobes & Fascists Beware. I do both serious magical posts and silly wizard posts, so yeah. Call me Danny. (Neither man nor woman but a secret third thing.)

FAQs & Newbie Orientation (Updated August 14!)

“What do you mean when you say ‘New Age’?” I am specifically referring to forms of spirituality that revolve around the idea that the Earth is about to enter an actual new age, commonly referred to as the Age of Aquarius, Fifth Density, or Fifth Round. If a belief system doesn’t include this, it ain’t New Age, even if it did emerge in the 20th century, even if Barnes & Noble puts books on it on the New Age shelf. (A Wiccan can be a New Ager, but the idea of a new age not a central part of Wiccan beliefs.)

“Why are you so critical of New Age and starseeds?” The short answer? It’s a white supremacist hate movement, and it always has been.

I also recommend checking out the #new age to alt right pipeline and #spiritual eugenics tags.

”What do you think of reincarnation, in general?” I think it’s fine to believe in reincarnation so long as you don’t act like it gives you special knowledge or wisdom, or entitles you to tell other people what to do, or entitles you to appropriate and misrepresent other people’s cultures and spiritual traditions, or tie it in with a conspiracist worldview. (Starseeds do all of these.)

“What if I’m alienkin, or I believe my soul comes from another planet?” Nothing inherently wrong with that! The problem with the starseed movement is its politics - it’s founded on a bunch of racist, ableist, colonialist garbage. (It’s no coincidence that a number of starseeds are outright Nazis.)

“What if I want to call myself a starseed, though?” That’s like wanting to call yourself a Nazi. There is something deeply wrong with you if you do. “Why are you so critical of ancient aliens?” See Spencer McDaniel’s excellent post.

“Do you think it’s wrong to believe in alien life?” No, I just think it’s important to be critical of what you believe about it, and why you believe it. If you believe in aliens, question your assumptions about them. What are you projecting onto them? Why are you projecting that? Is that projection a bit self-centered, whether positively or negatively?

“Why are you so critical of conspiracy theories?” Simply put, because conspiracy theories are tools of reactionary violence. Most conspiracy theories are derived from The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, a known hoax created to demonize Jews and blame them for the world's problems while justifying a return to monarchy; or early modern witch panic and blood libel. BTW, I recommend Justin Sledge's video on the Satanic Panic. "But isn’t there a bunch of evidence?” 'Fraid not. All of it's either fabricated (EG, the aforementioned Protocols), taken out of context (EG, the Dendera “light”), extremely subjective (EG, someone’s mystical experience), based on absurd standards of what constitutes "evidence" (being a depressed teen who liked heavy metal and D&D was taken as a sure sign being involved in a satanic cult in the 80's and 90's), or produced through flawed methods (EG, so-called recovered memory therapy), or questioning vulnerable people until the interviewers or psychologists finally got what they wanted to hear. (If you want to get an idea of just how much of a mess this was, and just how unethical and irresponsible things could get, I recommend checking out the You're Wrong About podcast's episodes on Michelle Remembers.)

“But aren’t starseeds part of ancient traditional beliefs?” Literally no one has been able to produce a single scrap of evidence that anything like the New Age concept of starseeds existed before the Victorian period. However, New Agers are well-known for bullshitting about the age and origins of their beliefs. If you’re going to assert that starseeds are genuinely part of some ancient tradition, you need to provide some real evidence.

So yeah, that’s why I post the stuff I do. If it happens to challenge your current beliefs, please understand that my intentions are not to hurt you or make you unhappy, but to help you make more informed decisions about your beliefs and spirituality.

“What’s your problem with the Law of Assumption?” See this post and this post. See also: The prosperity gospel, explained: Why Joel Osteen believes that prayer can make you rich. (The Law of Assumption is closely related to prosperity gospel.) Why you should know about the New Thought movement (another closely related movement)

“Do you recommend any resources?” Yup, over here!

Jennifer Crepuscolo admits she's a Nazi

Does anyone rememeber Jennifer Mezzetta, a.k.a. Jennifer Crepuscolo? She's the leader of a Theistic Satanist group called the Union of Italian Satanists, who Vice News wrote an interview article about back in January.

That article overlooked a very significant detail: the fact that their group contains several endorsements of Nazi ideology, and even contains some praise (alongside some criticism) for Nazi Satanist groups such as Joy of Satan and the Order of Nine Angles. @queersatanic wrote a thread on the subject on Twitter, and then I decided to write an article documenting as much as I could.

This got discovered by Jennifer herself, who then sent me a Facebook message basically accusing me of slandering them, and then claimed that she was planning to sue me.

And then of course I wrote a fresh response to that entire farce, even though it was extremely unlikely that she and her band of Nazi chucklefucks were ever going to pose any threat to me.

But why am I talking about this again? Because last night someone sent me evidence over Facebook that Jennifer admitted to someone, in private conversation (apparently someone she betrayed), that she aligns with the ideology of National Socialism (Nazism), along with the Right in general. Below are a series of receipts that are to be credited to a man named "Gundisalvus".

You might have to squint though, since they are somewhat difficult to read.

Here's a Google Translate of what Jennifer said just in case:

I am also informed that Jennifer has an admin team consisting of racist cyberbullies who, at one point, pushed a girl to suicide, and that Jennifer had a relationship with a man named Mandy Lord (one of the authors at the USI website; real name Giuseppe Crocchiolo) for seven years, lied about it in front of other people, and then the two of them violently broke up over a migrant. Her friend Paola is also said to have made false accusations against a migrant centre which that migrant was staying at, so you can bet that entire clique is just brazenly racist.

I remain confident that Jennifer never had any case against me before. But if she ever pressed on, I don't think it would take long for someone to see these screenshots and see Jennifer for the lying Nazi that she really is. I would thus renew my indignation against Vice News for writing their article about the Union of Italian Satanists while failing make any mention of their affilitation with Nazism and esoteric fascism.

Gonna keep this on anon, but your blog genuinely helped me with a lot of shit, made me feel less fucked up and I overall feel a lot more stress free regarding some spiritual things.

Thank you, you create what feels like a safe and calm space.

You're welcome!

Okay, serious post time, y'all.

Multiple times I have encountered people who told me that some so-and-so was posting the most horrible content, doing the most awful things, or just whatever. And then when I actually looked? The very thing they claimed was happening, simply was not happening.

More of you need to get better at not doing this shit. You need to watch yourself and ask whether you're doing a paranoid reading. You need to slow down and read that post a few times to make sure it said what you thought it said.

When you go around accusing people of things they aren't actually doing, you are doing harm. You are damaging their reputations (and possibly the reputations of their community) in a way that's totally undeserved. You are behaving in a way that can cause serious trauma, both for people you're talking about and for any bystanders nearby. You are engaging in abusive behavior.

So for real, knock this shit off.

It's very unproductive to sit around waiting for people to guess what you want from them just to then get upset when they don't guess it.

If you care a lot about your birthday being celebrated, let your friends know that it's happening a couple weeks in advance and make it clear that you would like to plan something fun with them.

If you want your friends to gush about your latest achievement, make sure to let them all know that you did this or that cool thing.

If someone's joke is hurting your feelings, you can and should go "hey, could you please not joke about my appearance? It's a bit hurtful and I'd rather you went at something else."

If you miss someone, don't be afraid to reach out and let them know you'd love to catch up with them when they have the time!

If you're upset about something, try to have a constructive conversation about it instead of holding a grudge in silence.

You will get so much further if you make a serious attempt to exchange hints and grudges with conversation and communication!

Am absolutely beyond frustrated with the manifestation girlies. "If you're not getting everything you desire it's because your thoughts aren't properly aligned with your goals and you just need to manifest harder with the right affirmations-" no shut up, what happened to criticizing capitalism and other societal barriers, can we bring that back instead?! Please?!

It's fine! And thanks! 💜

Just to make things clear, I think that simulation theory is complete horseshit, and I don't particularly care to think about it in any way, shape, or form whatsoever.

Anonymous asked:

If life is a simulation, does that make sunsets less beautiful? Does it make us love any less fiercely? Does it make food less tasty? Does it make heartbreak less painful?

Whether or not life is a simulation, we exist and experience all the same.

Does pudding make pudding pudding pudding?

Anonymous asked:

Either we're the real universe OR the one in the chain that's still evolving to make a simulation in our own world.

What if there was a big big pudding chain

Anonymous asked:

We're not in a simulation. We don't have the technology to perfectly simulate ourselves.

I agree that we're not in a simulation, but simulation theory proposes that we're being simulated by beings who actually do have the technology, not that we're simulating ourselves.

I love opening up this website first thing like the morning paper and immediately seeing multiple posts like "how to get rid of the evil clown on the dashboard". like oh is this what we're doing today

I'm gonna start adding this to every post I see about this advertising bs that tumblr are pulling

not only is it annoying, and in some countries probably illegal for not declaring a paid partnership

TUMBLR IS CROSSING THE PICKET LINE

They are taking money from Netflix to promote a show.

Actors and writers are unable to promote work because of the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Netflix is under the AMPTP, so it is a struck company, making One Piece a struck work.

So they are using alternate ways of promoting their products, including paying companies like tumblr.

Both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA have made statements saying that they consider anyone or company taking payment to promote struck work as crossing the picket line.

Tumblr is spitting in the face of struggling actors and writers to make a quick buck from Netflix

The clown pop-up from the Tumblr dashboard has been right clicked, and the Block element... option has been selected. This brings up an interface that allows the user to block the asset. The Create button from this interface is highlighted in red with an arrow pointed to it. By selecting the Create button, the user will no longer see the clown. /End ID.]

If anyone wants to add the process for other adblockers feel free
