One thing about anime translations is how people address each other.
I read subtitles as "wretched goddess" when a demon meets this girl, but all I hear is "Elizabeth". Yes there is distain in his voice which conveys how he feels this goddess is wretched but he doesn't say that. He only says her name.
Is there a reason for this? Maybe the translators think giving more explicit info (instead of just a name) will help viewers understand subtle cultural differences English only speakers wouldn't get?
