Things to show to my bf

@cosmopiccione

Tumblr is the only social I have so I save here the stuff to show him

Just saw a post about creating art and I want to share with y'all the project I've started.

I'm going to sew a life size, 1:1 ratio scale Enderman.

I've worked out all the calculations for the dimensions based off the information given by the the texture and data given by Minecraft.

He will be 290 cm (about 9'6") tall. His arms and legs are all 174 cm (about 5'8") long. The width of both arms and legs is 11.6 cm (about 4.57 inches).

I have all the calculations laid out as well as an estimation of the pattern layout. I'll reblog with the images as soon as I have my notebook handy.

It's going to be a very expensive and time consuming project but I'm really excited to do it :3

As promised, the calculations and rough pattern

I'm thinking about materials I need and here's my list so far

  • 8 yards black fabric
  • Black thread
  • Meter stick
  • Fabric scissors (my old ones got lost in the move)
  • Cutting mat (not too sure on this one because all the pieces are going to be too big to fit)
  • Sewing needle (for the ladder stitch to connect all the limbs to the torso)
  • Two different purple embroidery flosses (I'm planning on getting the eyes custom embroidered)
  • Polyfill (to stuff him)

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them, this is one of my most ambitious projects as an amateur seamstress (/gender neutral) so I really want it to come out well!

It's several months later and let's just say I did a bit of off camera grinding.

BEHOLD

FLESH

Emmet has been stuffed now. The only thing I need to do now is give him a heart. I'm going into town to get a piece of amethyst for that later. I'll post pictures after his heart transplant :3

He's finished. Emmet the 9'6" life size enderman plush. My adult cat, Galaxy, for scale. He's by no means perfect, but he's mine.

RuPaul is an asshole but this moment where he basically claimed ownership of Jimmy Fallon's soul for a solid five seconds is still imo the absolute funniest shit that's ever been broadcast on TV

I've only seen the expressions that pass on Jimmy Fallon's face in survivors of terrorist attacks and plane crashes. It's probably the only genuine emotion he's ever displayed on camera in his entire life. This is the closest we're ever going to get to someone casting Soul Trap in real life
