not even a full year apart... we stay silly :3 🐈

literally fuck off lol

tumblr has doubled down and after almost a week re-reviewed MY FUCKING TRANSITION and decided it still needed a community label for sexual themes

fuck this website and fuck every person working there you pricks

like if ur coping with being transfem and closeted with erotica thats so okay, i did it too for a really long time (not the sissy stuff but i was obsessed with forced feminization and forced crossdressing). but projecting that onto real fucking people, like we only exist while you're in your fucking sissy spiral or whatever and barely even then, is beyond the fucking pale. like sis, ur not gonna see god acting like that.

really neat how the community labels feature quickly became a way to harass trans people, particularly trans women, instead of a way to warn people about actually mature subject matter

I’m watching that documentary “Before Stonewall” about gay history pre-1969, and uncovered something which I think is interesting.

The documentary includes a brief clip of a 1954 televised newscast about the rise of homosexuality. The host of the program interviewed psychologists, a police officer, and one “known homosexual”. The “known homosexual” is 22 years old. He identifies himself as Curtis White, which is a pseudonym; his name is actually Dale Olson.

So I tracked down the newscast. According to what I can find, Dale Olson may have been the first gay man to appear openly on television and defend his sexual orientation. He explains that there’s nothing wrong with him mentally and he’s never been arrested. When asked whether he’d take a cure if it existed, he says no. When asked whether his family knows he’s gay, he says that they didn’t up until tonight, but he guesses they’re going to find out, and he’ll probably be fired from his job as well. So of course the host is like …why are you doing this interview then? and Dale Olson, cool as cucumber pie, says “I think that this way I can be a little useful to someone besides myself.”

1954. 22 years old. Balls of pure titanium.

Despite the pseudonym, Dale’s boss did indeed recognize him from the TV program, and he was promptly fired the next day. He wrote into ONE magazine six months later to reassure readers that he had gotten a new job at a higher salary.

Curious about what became of him, I looked into his life a little further. It turns out that he ultimately became a very successful publicity agent. He promoted the Rocky movies and Superman. Not only that, but get this: Dale represented Rock Hudson, and he was the person who convinced him to disclose that he had AIDS! He wrote the statement Rock read. And as we know, Rock Hudson’s disclosure had a very significant effect on the national conversation about AIDS in the U.S.

It appears that no one has made the connection between Dale Olson the publicity agent instrumental in the AIDS debate and Dale Olson the 22-year-old first openly gay man on TV. So I thought I’d make it. For Pride month, an unsung gay hero.

RATING: RELIABLE

you can listen to the clip of the 1954 interview here and find him on wikipedia here

everyone suddenly getting hyped about r/place is. Hm. like, if i told you i wrote gullible on the ceiling, would you look up?

like, literally a month ago everyone was like ‘reddit sucks!! blackouts!! boycott reddit!! everyone’s moving to tumblr!!’ and now reddit brings back r/place specifically to attract people back to the platform and… everyone is just falling for it? ignore that shit! just ignore it! i don’t care if there’s cute mcyt drawings on it or you want to help make your country’s flags or whatever! reddit lets you draw with pixels again and suddenly we’re all just cool with it??? can we all just think for two seconds about this

the thing that's interesting about r/place this time around is that like. I don't even think it's working. Like, look at the top half of the canvas. This is just depressing. I know flags are a long-standing tradition, but they're basically the largest scale thing on the canvas. And those are NOTORIOUSLY easy to bot.

also critically the bottom half of the canvas is literally mostly telling spez to fuck himself.

it turns out that when you try to make a PR problem go away by giving people a medium with which to express discontent, they'll make an ever-growing wall of just telling you to go fuck yourself. and also redraw bad apple frame by frame. god i love the internet.

tumblr. stop giving me stupid fucking badges and fix the 'bigotry against trans women in staff' problem

im so pissed that my friend's selfies in a sweater that shows like negative skin got tagged as mature. like i don't want to leave bc i love yall but that just sits very poorly with me.

When my kiddo finally decided (at age 20) that it was time for (most of) his enormous Lego collection to go, it was a gut-wrenching moment for me (goodbye childhood!). However, we used this service, which was simple and hassle-free.

This is wonderful to know.

growing up being autistic but not knowing is just *hiding in room while people are over* *getting tired and needing to recharge after the smallest chores* *getting called a gifted kid* *knowing that you’re “weird” because people are making fun of you but not knowing how to stop being weird* *having adults tell you how “mature” you are* *getting in trouble for not doing work* *convincing yourself that you’re just lazy and stupid because you can’t make yourself do work* *getting really invested in “weird” media*

My copy of @drchucktingle's book Camp Damascus has arrived! (The publishers were kind enough to send me an advanced copy when I mentioned that I had ordered a copy but time was not kind to me as it was Finish Good Omens and Wrap Things Up Before the Strike world, and I had no personal reading time. So I'm really looking forward to settling down to read it.)

idk i just feel like if you were actually attracted to women you’d be attracted to women in their default state not just exclusively in an outrageously plucked and preened one

like if you see a woman with body hair or whatever and go “ew that’s disgusting!!!” like you’re not attracted to women then bc women have stuff like that we’re born with it it’s literally normal and you think it’s disgusting

“i would never date a woman with leg hair, armpit hair, facial hair, saggy tits, cellulite, stretch marks, etc etc etc” great! so you admit you aren’t attracted to women then!

This is true I think, everyone just has very normal and even-minded thoughts and opinions about transfeminine sexuality
