I’m currently unemployed, the job market in the Animation Industry is a mess right now, and I’m not sure when I’ll find new work. In the mean time, every time I leave my apartment it costs me something!

If you could please consider donating $5 to my “Little Treat Fund”, I’d be happy to doodle you something of your choice. Nothing super complex, these aren’t fine art commission pieces, but a doodle of something. Examples listed to help generate ideas

Please send $5 through ko-fi and write what you wish me to doodle on the donation.

I’m not sure if ko-fi allows you to add reference images but be descriptive as possible: i.e. LUFFY (from one piece), my character Ren (google xyz) etc

Reblogs are super appreciated 🥲💖

So I'm rewatching SU -mostly because of your drabble series- and I'm currently on Warp Tour. I totally forgot that Amethyst raided the fridge for mac and cheese packets. I always keep boxed mac and cheese in a cabinet. Why would they store it in the fridge? Is that normal??

It's not normal lmao. Listen. The Universe household is WEIRD AS FUCK about food and I feel like people ignore it. Steven's diet is like 90% cheese puffs. The most normal thing he's ever ate on screen was a fucking sandwich. He makes cakes he shoves cheese puffs on, then sushi he shoves cheese puffs into. The boy has a thing about cheese. Early episodes are almost entirely food trauma. FOOD IS WEIRD FOR STEVEN UNIVERSE.

My running theory is either A.) they stuffed a bag in the fridge unaware the mac n cheese was in there or B.) Pearl (or Steven) went "wait. we put dairy in the fridge. this becomes a form of dairy. FRIDGE."

I am a staunch rose quartz enjoyer but I do think it's funny how the show goes about unpacking her flaws. for so long it's "ack, she killed pink diamond! the great life-venerating leader committed a hypocritical murder! how will steven cope with the second-hand guilt?" until the big reveal of "psych! the good news is: she didn't actually do that. the bad news is: that was probably the only crime she didn't do."

Cheat code for writing disabled characters in sci-fi/fantasy without eliminating their disability:

Don't change humanity, change what's available to humanity.

i.e.: If your magic removes/fixes a defect or your sci-fi lets you select for traits at birth, that's changing humanity. That's altering a fundamental aspect that real humans live with, and distancing your fictional version of humanity from the real deal by cutting out a portion of it that your setting deems "undesirable."

If your magic/sci-fi aids a defect (like magic netting that acts as a brace, or a wheelchair with wheels that transform to fit the environment), then you're taking humanity as we know it and saying "wouldn't it be cool if we had these tools?"

Don't change what makes us human, change what humans can create.

God that new Scorsese pic looks so fucking good

some additional context from the former principal chief of the osage nation:

Also I mentioned this in my notes but the (banger) song in the trailer is by First Nations electronic band Halluci Nation, who you should definitely check out:

the thing about doesthedogdie is that its genuinely a great resource to check for triggering subjectmatter in media, and because people can comment you can also see the nuance in how its handled and such. i love it. but its also kind of funny when certain questions are asked about mostly benign shows. like no there werent any 9/11 depictions in k-on but can you fucking image

My favorite is the context given to the dog dying in John Wick.
