honestly we as people might feel helpless because we aren't making any major decisions to be useful for ukraine.

but being informed, double checking the information we consume, anti-war protests and donating to legit ukrainian sources could be us doing our part.

if we can't pressure our leaders to help ukraine fight russia or demolish it's ' operation ', then we can at least pressure them to open the borders to the refugees, give them a safe place to stay while ukraine fights for its freedom.

listen to ukraine, listen to its people, listen to their needs.

ukraine is pleading for international help, isolated but standing strong to protect its country, to protect its home and its people. a country that just wants to exist peacefully.

we, as foreigners, as civilians, might not have much of an influence on the government. but we sure as hell can pressure them to do MORE to stop putin on this bloodbath that won't just end with ukraine.

sure, it might seem like a suicide mission to get involved. sure, russia is a strong, strong enemy to have. sure, it's gonna take a lot of balls for these governments to send out the help ukraine NEEDS, and not vague statements and ' help ' that is carefully planned out to their self interest.

but how much longer must we, everyday people, suffer for a politicians' greed for power? let's stand up to do what is right, even if it's risky, even if it's far from ensuring a guarantee of safety, even if it's scary. it doesn't have to be grand, small things count, like donating, attending anti-war protests, and more.

don't let tyranny win. don't let war criminals and dictators get their way. don't let history repeat itself.

do what you can as ' people ', normal people who don't want war for anyone, normal people who want peace, everyday people who don't support wars of greed and conquest.

As you guys know, Discord is being basic b and removing the one good thing about it's system — the DISCRIMINATORS or the Discord Tag as we know it, which works as ✨any username ♥#0000.

Now, they're removing it for some basic ass username and apparently the staff is reserving usernames for their staff and personal accounts while we have to deal with a plethora of issues that come with privacy when you lose the ever-changing username + discriminator option.

This is where REVOLT comes in by introducing Discriminator Tags to their username system because “ Usernames are Evolving ” and it's the perfect replacement for Discord should our community make a move.

The website is already working well and the app Revolt is allowing Early Access.

So if you want Discord to truly see the mess they made? Switch to Revolt, cancel Nitro subscriptions, let them know this new username system SUCKS in reviews. Let them know that their dedicated fanbase was most due to this privacy option that is not being taken from them and so they are not going to hesitate to switch to Revolt if Discord didn't revert the username change.

I truly don't have any words about what's happening in Ohio right now. I want to post something like I usually do. Give vocabulary, etc, whatnot. It's important, it's so important. But I don't have words. What could I possibly say about the level of devastation that has happened, is happening, will happen in the future? This is worse than the BP spill. And I don't know how to respond to that with anything other than a shocked numbness.

There has been a complete media black out regarding the catastrophic and deadly environmental disaster currently happening in Ohio right now, which began a full week ago at time of writing.

A train filled with extremely toxic and reactive chemicals, specifically vinyl chloride, was derailed. A cloud of poisonous chemicals has sprouted and since the cloud is heavier-than-air, it will persist to continue to travel downwind, polluting the atmosphere and environment of everything it touches. All pets will die. Reaching the Mississippi will completely eradicate the safety of all its waters from that point and everywhere downstream. Creeks are already filled with dead fish which the Ohio government claims is not to be worried about. The entire state's soils and ecosystems will be contaminated to deadly carcinogenic levels for the rest of all our lives and far beyond it. If and when it reaches the Gulf of Mexico the currents will carry its poisons globally.

I wish I could say anything of hope right now. I wish I could even say I'm angry. But I'm not right now. I just feel numb. The scale of this is just so beyond anything I can comprehend and there's an explicit and purposeful refusal to report on this.

Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I preferred the Addams Family when they were just creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky. Now Wednesday is a murderer who drops piranhas in a swimming pool and watches people get eaten. We even get blood. Not fake blood like in the first movie, but actual blood from an actual person screaming in pain because he’s being eaten alive.

Just… why?????

Also Tim Burton seems to have fundamentally misunderstood what makes the Addams Family work as a concept. See, I knew that this show was going to be about an older Wednesday in high school, but I assumed it would be a normal high school. In fact I got a little excited at the beginning of the trailer because the school was named after Nancy Reagan, which made me think they were going to bring back the satirical elements from the 60s TV show. But no. As it turns out, that’s not the high school the show will be focusing on. It’s actually the Nevermore Academy, which is just as dark and weird as the Addams Family… and I HATE that!

The reason the Addams Family works is because they’re the odd ones out. The comedy comes from seeing a typical suburban conservative Christian neighbourhood reacting to the gothic strangeness of the Addams Family, the irony being that the Addams Family are the ones that are well adjusted and happy because they’re perfectly content with who they are, unlike their neighbours who are constantly concerned with their own social status. If everyone is like the Addams Family… where’s the joke? The premise no longer works.

It seems like Tim Burton just wanted an excuse to do his usual quirky gothic aesthetic without stopping to consider that it only works in contrast with the white picket fence neighbourhood the Addams Family inhabit. 🤦🏻‍♂️
