Some thoughts on what could have happened had Geto called Gojo or Shoko after finding Nanako and Mimiko
"nothing lasts forever"
what aziraphale thought he said: you are more important than my books
what crowley heard: our partnership had to end some day
I’m not even sure that’s what he heard. Because like, even if he didn’t, right. Even if they’re just talking about the bookshop. Aziraphale is still basically going ‘Yes, this thing we both love and depend on is nice, but we have to give up nice things sometimes, don’t we?’
Remember what Crowley said about that precious, peaceful, fragile existence [they’ve] carved out here. Aziraphale is saying that’s about to end. And I don’t think Crowley can handle that loss right now. The season starts with Aziraphale telling Crowley his beautiful celestial creation won’t last and ends with him saying their life on Earth won’t last. The first, he’s visibly upset and deflated. The second, he’s devastated. Things keep being taken away from him.
I think he knows Aziraphale isn’t ending their partnership. But what he IS ending is just as painful. Everything the bookshop symbolizes, their tentative freedom, their precious fragile peace, Aziraphale is ready to let that go. And Crowley isn’t. That’s why he puts on his glasses and walks away.
Thinking again about the very first scene, and how Aziraphale was fascinated and besotted by the Starmaker. Not-yet-Crowley is so full of light, and joy, and innocent intent — and Aziraphale is already afraid. He already knows not to ask questions. Whoever he’s been with, they aren’t like the Starmaker. Heaven already isn’t safe; they don’t love what they’ve made. They’re blithely planning its destruction. But the Starmaker loves his stars. He wants them to live. And even though Aziraphale doesn’t have words yet for what is wrong in Heaven, he feels the fear of it — and he sees the Starmaker hasn’t gone wrong yet, and he loves him for it. He loves him for loving the world.
the 212 and 501st have slightly different definitions of “under control”

'Crowley was so brave to make his confession' yeah yeah granted but, the thing is, Aziraphale was so brave to say "our car"
"Despite their best efforts, Warlock showed a regrettable tendency to be good at maths" might be the line with one of the funniest implications in this book because it means that math has no place in the agendas of good or evil, and it's some ominous secret third thing that neither Aziraphale or Crowley would want a child to take interest in, and it's also just incredibly funny to picture them trying to help Warlock with his math homework and getting distressed to the point of tears because now they have to figure out what algebra is in order to keep their jobs
@softest-punk ‘s amazing writing was the inspiration behind this, ( the text here is from the fic) !please go read their work it is divineee!
