I assume you’re referring to this in my response: “ the whole “monsters represent oppressed minorities!” thing which is not very well done”? Sure I can elaborate. But note that I’m white, and so my opinions on this should be taken with a grain of salt; there’s several others in this fandom that can probably explain this in better detail and information than I could.

I could also be totally wrong, and I welcome discussion on this.

Projected in Oakland. California, known for its great weather, is still being battered by the #ClimateCrisis. We need mass mobilization to save lives the world over, not more military-industrial-complex profits. No number of tanks and stealth bombers will save us from bomb cycles. yeah yeah, good afterlife or whatever, what about here? what about laying in the dirt and grass with the sun in your eyes? what about old library books with yellowed pages? what about food that’s made the same wrong way your family does? what about people with unique birthmarks and weird smiles and messy hair that’s so endearing? what about bandaids and scars with funny stories behind them? what about laughing at typos and glitches? what about smiling until your face hurts? what about sunsets with trees or buildings in the way that make crisp silhouettes against the colors? what about falling in love with imperfection over and over and over?
