*bonk bonk bonk*
the tendency for racists and white supremacists to go gaga over their idea of ancient Rome is so darkly hilarious because of how entirely wrong it is. It’s not a twisting of some kernels of truth, it’s not a misinterpretation, it’s just the exact opposite, and people in Western Europe has been doing it for so long. For centuries people in Britain and Germany would be like/have been like “ah yes, we are special and superior because we are the heirs of the superior Romans” while next to a giant pile of writings by respected Ancient Romans who went “god, Britain is a dump and Germany is full of idiot barbarians. I wish I lived somewhere cool and cultured like Syria or Tunisia.”
#the amount of letters i read about roman soldiers bemoaning the lack of olives in britain is astounding
which symbol do you think would look coolest on the back of a jacket?
Let’s be real. All of them would.
But I think a NFPA 704 would be the coolest.
Mainly because you could make it personal.
How short is your temper? Do you consider yourself toxic to others? How mentally stable are you?
And of course, you could put a standard/semi-standard symbol in the white (biohazard and radioactivity symbols are always a hit), but you could also get creative.
I mean, imagine the possibilities!
Took that bitch like a personality test. Needs to be finished and ironed tho :/
YOOOOOOO
hey, doyle, please don’t say watson keeps his stethoscope in his hat like that’s a normal thing, i refuse to believe that’s a normal thing
Sorry to disappoint but…
THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF DISAPPOINTMENT IM SO HAPPY THAT PEOPLE SAW TOP HATS AND SAID “oh boy a new pocket :)”
some dude in victorian england: hey dude nice hat
the other dude, picking up his hat to let a comical array of items tumble out: thanks it’s also a pocket :)
i know we're all sick of self-care being a marketing tactic now, but i don't think a lot of us have any other concept of self-care beyond what companies have tried to sell us, so i thought i'd share my favorite self-care hand out
brought to you by how mad i just got at a Target ad
OP this is EXCELLENT
Now THAT’S a self care resource! If you’ve gotten distracted by capitalism’s appropriation of “self-care” and watering the meaning down to nothing this is a super helpful guide to cut through the bullshit.
This graphic is fabulous. It represents a tiny crash course in rhetoric. Learn these things. Put them on your wall. Whisper them into the breeze. These are THINGS TO KNOW.
Yeesssssssssss.
Interesting

Here are the original Adolte to Adalte oneshot and the first chapter of Nakamura Asumiko’s new series from Ultra Jump 2017/05.
Both in Japanese, of course. Enjoy!

🐴 REBLOGS APPRECIATED🐴
sunscreen / SPF is for EVERYONE
it’s true that gingers like myself are more likely to acquire skin cancer from sun exposure
it is ALSO true that people of color are more likely to DIE of skin cancer (a very survivable cancer) due to late diagnosis, medical racism, and lower levels of access to care
pls take care of your skin. it’s your biggest organ
Remember physical barriers are the best sunscreens. Lightweight breathable clothes that cover you, big sunglasses, wide brim hats, or even carry an umbrella/parasol.
Since FMA is trending here’s ur reminder that Hiromu Arakawa has an ongoing series at the moment!! It’s called Yomi no Tsugai (Daemons of the Shadow Realm) with only 15 chapters and it’s first volume’s English release this month!!
the infamous 'last sighting of a barbary lion in the wild' photo taken by marcelin flandrin (1925) haunts me to my core. there's something so achingly poetic about it.
