Male Museum Art Nudes

@collegeprof2

Pictures of male (mostly) nudes from museums and other public displays around the world.  Unless otherwise stated, the photos were either taken by me or are public domain downloads from museums of statues or paintings I have seen.  This blog replaces collegeprof.tumblr.com that was deactivated following five years of male art nudes posts with twenty thousand followers.  There were no pictures of penetration, but too many dick pics I guess. My first post here, of Michelangelo’s David was flagged.  Go figure.

Ludvik  Vacátko   (born 1873 Simmering , Austria - died1956 Kunvald ) was a Czech painter and professor of drawing. His  parents had chosen a military  career for their son.  After graduating from military school, he taught drawing at the cadet school in Prague.  He studied further at  the Academy of Fine Arts and  continued his studies  in Paris, Vienna and Munich. After leaving the army he fully devoted himself to art and was considered an outstanding expert in the anatomy of animals. Most of  his paintings depict nudes, horses, animals and battle scenes. Vacátka  chose Ludek Marold as his assistant to create a panoramic image of Battle of Lipan .  His artistic expression was influenced by the painters George Židlického and Franz Liebl . In 1928 he published the book “Painting Animals”. In 1943 he moved to Kunvald , where he lived until his death in 1956.

The Riace Bronzes, also called the Riace Warriors.

These two full-size Greek bronzes of naked bearded warriors, which were cast circa 460–450 BC, were found in the sea in 1972 near Riace, Calabria, in southern Italy. The bronzes are now in the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia in the nearby city of Reggio Calabria.

Being two of the few surviving full-size ancient Greek bronzes (such bronzes were usually melted down in later times) they demonstrate the superb technical craftsmanship and exquisite artistic features that were achieved at that time.
