it’s way past my bedtime and I still can’t fall asleep. I think of how I have never truly understood the term “soul mates” until I met you. this gratefulness I feel is a lightness I’ve never felt before. when the world is fast asleep and mine is falling apart, there’s nobody I’d rather have but you to hold me back to sleep.

at 4.30am, you were there for me when I couldn’t stop crying. only you would refuse to hang up despite my insistence. I didn’t even have to say anything and you could tell how I was feeling. only you would tell me: “you woke me up and now I can’t go back to bed (what a liar), so I just want to talk to you. and if you don’t feel like talking, I can just sit here and hear you breathe.” and when I joke about what a creepy stalker you sound like, you say: “yeah, I’m a creepy stalker. only for you.” oh, love.

people go through their lives without meeting their soulmates. I’m a lucky girl. after all this time? always.
