It has become evident over the past week or so that part of the fandom has been under attack on Twitter regarding ships. I just wanted to issue a brief statement with my thoughts on the subject. 

This library, the librarian, and all those working for the library WILL NOT tolerate any ship hate whatsoever. It is absolutely unnecessary and, frankly, disgusting. If you feel the need to voice your opinion, do not reblog a library post. Do not bash ships in the tags. Make your own separate post, and if someone cares, they’ll reach out. 

Odds are: no one is going to care. 

We are such a lovely fandom so far, and it honestly just breaks my heart to see that we apparently have such toxic people that would go so far as to publicly spew their LGBT hate and not have the decency to even apologize when explicitly called out. 

I understand that I can’t change people’s minds, and that in itself is just such a sad fact. I can, however, stop the hate from reaching the library. 

Please note: I read every single tag when a library post gets reblogged (so I can let the author know if you’ve said something nice) and if I see any ship-bashing of any kind, you will be blocked. 

The library’s views do not reflect that of these people; I have said many times that all ships are welcome. I don’t ever want anyone to feel attacked, and if you do, please message me. We will take care of it.
