“young adult dystopian novels are so unrealistic lmao like they always have some random teenage girl rising up to inspire the world to make change.”

a hero emerges

And just like in the novels, grown men and women are going out of their way to destroy her. Support our hero.

And it’s not even like it doesn’t happen regularly.

Teenage girls are amazing.

Sometimes they’re not even teenagers

Reblog every time a girl is discredited/ignored

Reblog if you still go to libraries.

I take my clients to the public library all the time. They have stuff to do and things they might want to learn. Our local library offers children’s events like safe trick or treat, dress up days, reading to dogs, giving public info and sessions on how to clean Up your Cori (which will help improve underemployed peoples employment rate). Like, kids are in school all day, they don’t want to go back to school once out to do the work. Also many libraries offer and provide technology schools can’t afford. Color printing, copying, laptop usage, often for free or very low cost. White men are so arrogant. He does think those people are nobodies.

I would think this person was trolling with that “summers off” comment, but he’s a verified account, so idk…

I volunteer at my local library branch. We’re actually one of the smallest branches in the system (and the Cinci library system is BIG for a city of this size). Yet every single day, we get in 50-100 books and DVDs that people have put on hold from other branches. And we pull 50-100 items from our shelves to send out to other branches for their holds. (Why yes, holds are my job as a volunteer. I’m only there once a week, but I know that this is something they do every day.)

The people who put those things on hold probably did it at home from their computer, and they might only pop into the library for five minutes to grab them from the hold shelf and use the self-checkout, so they might not really add up to much of a crowd if you look inside the library (though there are always people there, every minute they’re open). But that’s dozens of people a day just taking advantage of that one feature that the library system offers at this one small branch.
