Author's Summary: This is a story of Misha and Jensen. It's told through snapshots of pivotal moments beginning that fateful day on set in 2008, and traverses milestones in their eight year dance of friendship, partnership, struggles and joys, to see how they arrived where they are today.
Though threaded together, each chapter could also stand alone. They are intended as emotional polaroids capturing conversations and experiences, explored via alternating POV's depending on whom we felt would be best to tell each occasion through. Beginning with first meeting, the story moves through crushes, declarations, fights and reconciliations, all within a polyamorous framework. There isn't a large cast of characters because this is all about Jensen and Misha, and their entirely unique choreography. Vicki and Danneel feature only in the background.

She writes the kind of stories that are packed tight with emotion, and have an undeniable realism to them that hurts sooo good you never want it to end -- and, barring a few occasions, she somehow manages to jam all that sentiment in 2,000 words or less. It’s a power-punch of feels in a teeny-tiny container, and we absolutely adore every. single. schmoopsy. word.

Author's Summary: There’s no point to this story, Jensen thought once. No direction, no purpose, no goal – no point. He knows now, as he slides up behind Misha’s chair in the quiet anteroom, breathing in the strange combination of smells from Misha’s coconut shampoo and spicy grapefruit shower gel, that this is the point.

Mod Comment: A lovely, emotion-fueled, post-JIBCON4 one-shot that is as romantic as it is sexy. The air of comfortable domesticity is a nice change of pace from the usual hot-n-heavy post-con fics. Just beautiful.

Author's Summary: By the time the plane takes off from Bellingham International, Misha's mood has dropped as low as the frigid Washington temperatures. He has no good answer for why he decided to look at his social media mentions again, but here he is, dreaming up creative ways to get away with murder and make Jensen keep his promise to help him bury the body. Vicki tries more than a few times to lift his spirits by showing him the good comments, the love his fans are giving him, but he's too lost in his own head.
In which Misha Collins is upset by a moldy condiment and his nasty followers... and a trip to Austin, Texas is just the prescription he needs to show him how much he's loved.

Mod Comment: This fix-it fic is hot and sweet, funny and angsty, the perfect antidote to the maelstrom that hit the fandom when certain people attempted to discredit Misha in an underhanded and horrible public attack on his character. Poly-inclusive in the most satisfying way, the relationships among the ‘characters’ are fleshed out beautifully, and the foursome sex-scene is...*fans self*. AHEM.

Mod Comment: Lovely, fluffy mid-convention fic that plays off Misha’s love of poetry in the most beautiful way and made us sigh with joy.

Mod Comment: Serenhawk is not only one of our mods, but one of my, personal, favorite authors. Her style is as distinctive as it is elegant, and she weaves stories like lace. Beautiful and intricate, with threads that entwine effortlessly together to make up a stunningly interconnected whole. She usually writes ‘canon’ Cockles; this is her first AU -- and she doesn’t disappoint. The plot is cleverly woven and plausible, and despite being set in an alternate reality, a collage/coffee shop adjacent trope, her depiction of the boys still manages to remain completely in character, whilst still being off balance enough to make it interesting, yet not disorienting. Give it a read, I guarantee you will not be the least bit disappointed.

The Cockles fic rec blog has a fic challenge for past, present or future JenMish authors.
Jensen turns 40 on March 1st this year, and as it’s a notable birthday, we think we should do something special to commemorate it.
Rules are thus:
- Fic must feature or include Jensen’s birthday.
- You may incorporate as many past or present cast/crew members as you wish, however fic MUST include a minimum of two of the following in some capacity: Danneel, Vicki, Jared, Genevieve, or any of the cast or convention regulars. They don’t need to be married (for non-poly/no wives peeps), just featured in some form.
- Smut or fluff, crack or angst – we don’t care, we love them all! – but the line “[…]almost half a century old!” has to be in there somewhere. Who says it, and the tone in which it’s said is up to you. (Surprise us!)
- Each fic should between 4000 and 4999 words. A bonus reward (and top billing) goes to anyone who can make it PRECISELY 4,040 words. Because yes.
- Full fic must be posted between March 1st and 12 midnight PST March 15th.

Author’s Summary: Captain Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his crew sail aboard the Impala across the seas, enforcing justice upon slave ships, stealing from merchants, acting as mercenaries, and protecting their claimed territory. However, a new threat appears and disrupts their casual days of action. Who has dared challenge their right to sail and what will they do to enact justice?
Admin notes: This seems to be a discarded multiship fic catalogued under the J2 pairing. We’re including it here because how could we not? You cannot complain when your blessings aren’t tailored exactly to your liking, and Misha blogging a fic from Ao3 is definitely a blessing that had to be acknowledged.

You say Tumblr is the digital slash archive, but has anyone introduced you to AO3 (Archive of Our Own) yet? 103,000 Supernatural slash fics and counting. (Along with 50,000 non-slash SPN fics and 1.4 million non-SPN slash fics.)
I just googled AO3. THANK YOU for introducing me to it! I can’t wait to dig into the various tags in there. I also can’t believe that there are only 4600 works of slash fiction that mention my name. Where did all the others go?
At the time of writing, the fic count for “Misha Collins” stands at 4265, so it appears that unfortunately Mr Collins is sadly mistaken.
So it’s up to us to rectify this egregious misconception!
In an attempt to keep Mr Collins informed, please send us recs on not just AO3, but other platforms too. This way we can be assured that he has the latest, most up-to-date information available.

So I promised a guest review for @cocklesfanfic about 74738564538745bajillion years ago and finally, HERE IT IS.
Author Summary: Don’t mix too many Sierra Nevadas and Rob Benedict … things might end up being said that shouldn’t be.

Review: For those who like their Cockles with a little extra polyamory. Respectful to the wives of all involved, which is a definite must for me with RPS fics. Misha and Jensen are brilliantly written in this, I love their snark and all their stupid little “arguments” and the way you can clearly see they’re absolutely besotted with each other even when they bickering.
Commits the cardinal sin of using “the green eyed man” as a descriptor, but it doesn’t do it much, and I enjoyed the fic so much I am prepared to overlook it ;P
Nice build up to the sex, and I loved how awkward and fumbling Rob was about it all and how it was his wife in the end telling him to pull his head out of his ass and go for it. I don’t know if he’s particularly in character, because I don’t know much about him, so perhaps heed the author’s warning if that’s something you’re likely to notice.
As for the sex itself, beautifully written, and with Misha in full dom eyebrow mode. A definite must read.
