“Where did you learn to fight like that?”

“I have three older brothers.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, Wilson played first table on the chess team, Chester used to start crying every time he heard a sad song, Dan can really rock a cocktail dress and six-inch heels, and I wasn’t going to let anyone give them any shit for any of that.  So I had to learn to beat up people bigger than me pretty early on.”

I keep seeing posts and comments saying "POC, LGBTQ+ people, and religious groups have more problems than White people, non-LGBTQ+ people, and non-religious people" : I do not believe that is true. I do believe that every person of every skin color, identity, and religion have problems, just not necessarily more than white cis atheists. I believe that everybody has problems, they are just different from each other. (but there are certain problems that should be addressed as a society IMMEDIATELY). In some instances people do have more problems; bad home lives topped with bullying &/or abuse as opposed to bad home life with out bullying, but it depends on each individual. Now while certain people groups definitely have more severe/pressing issues, that does not mean other people groups have no issues at all. again, not trying to belittle anyone's pain here. every societal issue should be addressed, but there are some (like rape, murder, & assault, no matter identity, skin color, &/or religious practices) that need to have more attention payed to them because they are, sadly, the most common/prevalent issues. Yes LGBTQ+ people are in danger constantly, and yes POC are belittled and degraded for their (in my opinion beautiful) skin, And yes certain religions (particularly Muslims) are victims of violence and threats, and all of these people are consistently treated as less then human: THAT is why their issues need to be addressed first.

What defines a relationship is the way you fight because when things are good, they’re good pay attention to the way things are when they’re bad and the way he treats you when he’s mad at you or the way he reacts when you’re angry with him and whether it’s “I love you, you idiot” or a door slammed on your fingers.

1. Lay on the floor of your shower until you can breathe again. Water will always love to love your skin. 2. Start writing with the intention of filling up one page. Write until your pen stops working. 3. Reread a book that once made you cry. Learn something new on every page. Notice how different chapter make you sad. Notice how the book didn’t change and grow; you did. 4. Sleep with your windows open. You can hear both the rain and boys drunkenly singing Frank Sinatra on their deck. Both are equally good. 5. Don’t forget that honey will always taste sweet, but the best way to eat it is off your fingers, laughing. 6. Remember that, sometimes, getting out of bed is enough.
