ceramic catfish i made this week

#i gotta fire them. a lil worried abt the handheld one bc i’m not sure abt some of the clay thickness. dried a bit too quickly to do #much abt it now aside from shaving layers off but that’s ok #the lil puppy one on the right is good to go tho #ignore my fingernails they’re kinda awful rn. my friend did them before i went home and they looked nice!! but then i started to pick #at them. and the middle finger went first lol.

#prices are all over the place but i priced it by the time it took. cost of materials. age. and public response to each piece #more popular are a bit pricier (sorry)#maybe next year’s been in a juried exhibition too and several shows which contributes to that price #i know not everyone can afford an original. i can’t even afford an original. which is why i’m selling them lol. i need to pay my power bill #so i’m hoping to send these to good homes so me and my gf can pay rent for december and november he he #i’m gonna put more prints up as well! gotta see what i have #this is why i don’t sell originals tho bc the price is too high for most anyone to buy. and i get that!! that’s why i like prints. but just #wanted to let y’all know in case anyone was REALLY interested in a piece #there’s cheaper drawings up in there too #also SOMEONE BOUGH THE ORIGINAL CLOWN TOWN PAINTING! AT FULL PRICE! i never thought i’d find a buyer #but she’s a cool butch who wants to buy other lesbian art lmao i feel hella lucky. she bought that huge still life piece i did with the #frogg too. soooo sweet #anyway we are in a recession and art is a luxury and i realize that so i feel like ass POSTING this #but just wanted to get it out there anyway

#thank u to everyone who came out for the opening!!! was sooo anazing i had a rlly nice happy cry after it #all the lgbt people SHOWED UP. i met so many kind people. shared a lotta hugs and stories #there’s a collector in town who’s interested in buying it and i didn’t back down in what the full price would be so we’ll SEE!!#but he’s growing a collection of up and coming san antonio based artists so… we shall see

#he he update- i got my first solo show!! a few of my friends talked to a gallery owner and then the owner contacted me for a last minute #show lol. gonna be in the blue star gallery #*galleries omg in downtown san antonio !! feels not real haha #on top of that i have my advancement coming up on wednesday. a group show tomorrow #and some friends coming over on my bday to hang out.#going to be 28 (ew)#anyway. gonna be painting a lot this week but it’s v exciting and i feel v lucky
