they ask me what succession sunday feels like and i say not everything feels like something else.
it's the way connor is one of the richest motherfuckers on the planet and yet he's never had the human, quintessential experience of doing karaoke at a bar. and when he does finally do it, it's in the most misplaced place ever: an isolated room at an expensive, fancy bar with no other patrons around except his siblings, who are skeptical and not along for the ride because they never learned to have stupid fun together. they go because they're trying to do something nice for connor, but connor will never experience karaoke like in the movies because the roys aren't capable of doing what it requires: being silly and destroying their own egos. doing it in some hole-in-the-wall bar, with other patrons watching them fail miserably together on stage. they're not getting on that stage with connor. they went through the motions of finding a karaoke bar, sure, but connor was singing alone, and not for more than one song, before business intervened. he's done it, he marked it off his bucket list, but he probably came out wondering why the hell it felt so empty and not like the movies at all

buck: i think im really interested in this girl
eddie: oh cool. on an entirely unrelated note im fleeing the state
ive always thought the show makes a point of showing the difference between buddie and literally every other friendship on 911 but its extra clear in 6b cause either buddie or buck & chris or all three of them hang out at least once every ep while the other friendships (like chim & hen, athena & hen etc) get scenes like that only a couple times per season
which means that if you're part of the general audience youre obviously going to notice that youre seeing a LOT more of buck & eddies friendship in comparison to the rest and like . theres no way thats accidental
why do we bash greg's gay dad for not being there for his child but never question if greg had bad vibes? or if he was just unpleasant to be around?
the conceptually interesting thing about greg's gay dad isn't that he's gay it's that he successfully managed to completely disentangle himself from the roys. everyone else wishes

Succession / The Haunting of Hill House
can u believe that a) they don't kiss here and b) there's a guy just crawled out of a horse right next to them
literally always unsettled me but had never bothered to articulate why
I don’t think anybody knows about Eddie’s will. I really don’t think anyone in Eddie’s life really understands the important role Buck plays in the Diaz family. I think for us viewers and between the three of them, it’s very blatantly obvious. But I don’t think Eddie talks about how much he relies on Buck and how he’s basically raising his son with him with anyone else. Which is why everyone thinks he’s alone with just Christopher. And I think that needs to be vocalized to others so that Eddie can acknowledge it himself. It’s almost as if he keeps his life with Buck and Christopher separate from everyone else. So once he starts embracing it and letting it be known to others, I think it’ll help him realize what Buck really means to him. He’s keeping it so close to his heart, which is where his fear stems from. Until he’s ok with openly discussing it or even voicing it out loud, he won’t be able to make that choice that Buck is the one for him.
OP this 1000% makes sense. I’ve come to the conclusion no one knows about the will besides Eddie and Buck. Because the second anyone else knew there would be talk of it.
I doubt Pepa knows about it because Eddie wouldn’t want to upset her but not choosing her, but I think she needs to know because if she did, she’d understand that Eddie isn’t alone. She wants someone to be there for him (and Christopher) and he’s already got that.
Bobby would also see immediately just how important Buck’s presence in his out of work life is if he knew, he’ll he’s probably encourage Eddie to make Buck his emergency contact if he isn’t already.
Hen already knows something is up because she was there in the ICU when Chris came in, but she doesn’t know about the will. If she connects those dots she’s not letting it go with Eddie. Telling him all about what Buck being a legally binding parent really is.
Chim and Maddie would bring up the conversation with Buck about how he and Eddie are already dating like how Buck said they were, this co-parenting solidifying it.
Like this will reveal is a huge part of their story, and if others know about it they won’t be able to let it go. And Eddie and Buck will have to realize why they can’t let it go. Because it’s a big fucking deal.
No because the second they find out about it, they find out about Eddie’s true feelings for Buck. There’s no escaping the choice he made with the will. And that is a big fucking statement he made when choosing Buck as his son’s legal guardian. So when people find out, they start questioning why he did it, why he chose Buck. And they start questioning Buck’s role in not only Eddie’s life but Christopher’s as well. And they start questioning if there’s more to the partnership they all see every day. And Eddie knows, at least to some extent, that there will be questions. And he’s not yet ready for them. Which is why he keeps that shit quiet from everyone else. He’s not ready yet but he’s slowly on the way.

JEREMY STRONG as KENDALL ROY || Succession 4x04
Logan having had one last chance to see his family all together at Connor’s wedding but deciding to skip it for a business deal is such a delicious bookend. His last day on earth! Roman and Connor still holding out their hands please dad please just come. Even after all the frustration boiled over and they’d all said their piece and held their ground it all ended right where it started. And the choice to have no shots of his face as he was dying as a representation of the truest version of Logan the children knew. A faceless man an insurmountable distance away, unresponsive to any amount of crying or cursing or pleading. The memory of the last time they were all together will be of him turning his back.
Yk what else is CRAZY, every other time he’s gotten sick or collapsed one of the kids was around to catch him (the helicopter, the hike, the UTI) and force his heart to beat just a little longer. Marcia literally helping him walk again. Not this time! Going off to protect the business legacy he spent years cannibalizing his own family for and he ended up isolated in the most brutally physical sense, up in the air having left his corpse to a room full of vultures waiting to pick his bones clean
