On the last day before the strike, under WGA strike rules, I took all the work that was done at that point on Season 3 and emailed it to myself. This is for a number of reasons, the biggest of which, I would guess, is it stops someone from a struck studio taking a writer out to lunch and saying "obviously you can't write but perhaps you could privately write the rest of it so we're ready to go the moment the strike ends".

So yes, it does. Clocks restart the moment the strike ends.

Normally we'd make a joke about Good Omens here but we're still too emotionally fragile about it to do so.

The long-awaited second season of Good Omens is finally out on @primevideo, and, well, it's gonna be a long wait for season three. Aren’t you supposed to be avoiding good omens content for the strike? Serious question I don’t understand the rules and I feel like I’ve seen a lot of good omens content from you recently and I thought that wasn’t allowed?

The WGA hasn’t asked its members not to talk about content of what they’ve made. I’m voluntarily not doing any promotion on Twitter or Facebook or Instagram, and here on Tumblr I’m mostly responding to questions and talking about the effects of the strike.

and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has said such nice things about the season, and I'm sorry to everyone who had emotions they weren't expecting, and I'm impressed that so many of you have theories and don't plan to answer, validate or really even comment on any of them, but mostly I'm just sorry because I probably won't read whatever you've sent, not because I don't want to but because if I was doing nothing but reading Tumblr asks as a full time job I still wouldn't catch up with the thousands of asks coming in.

As a european i sometimes forget furefkied are actually real and not american folklore/cryptids. Like you’ve got friendly little bugs that glow in the dark….. b r uh

in case europeans were worried: we love them very much! even tho they’re clumsy and slow and sometimes bump into you, no one swats fireflies here, or takes them for granted. even grownups sometimes reach out in the summer and gently catch a firefly for a minute before letting it go.

By “reach out” that’s meant quite literally–you just kinda. Stick your hand in their flight path and they land on you and will sit on your hand for a bit. Sometimes if you’re just walking or standing outside while they’re active you have to shoo them off you because they’ll just. Sit on you.

They’re harmless and very pretty and it’s always a treat to see because they’re out for a relatively short time each year.

Ruby Bridges is 68. This is not ancient history. Not even close.

I know Ruby. She's a really nice person. The idea that they would try and write what she did as a girl out of history is shocking to me on so many levels, the simplest of which is just, but don't they know how lovely she is?

If the background actors don't come in for work because they exist virtually then the background costume and background hair and make up and their catering and transport and all the other departments that look after them get cut too. These things have knock on effects...

Barbie Spoilers:

I woke up in the middle of the night with the realization that Barbie initially sets off on a mission to cheer up the 'girl' who was having the existential, 'weird', thoughts but at some point, she abandons the "cheering up" part of that mission. Barbie meets Gloria and her daughter, and she realizes that Gloria was the one who had those thoughts, but there's never a scene where she tries to get Gloria to change her attitude. Barbie sat in that park and she came to terms with her own emotions, and as the movie went on, she continued to experience the ups and downs of being human, of being a woman, and in doing so, she validated Gloria's feelings. Gloria didn't need to change, she didn't need to stop having these thoughts and emotions. She was completely valid having her own existential feelings and processing her feelings through Barbie, like so many people do.
