Ryou x Hakuou (Shitsuji-sama no okiniiri) (This manga and the above are my comfort reads. I really like their dynamic where the guy is so mothering and caring over their slightly more impulsive partners. Amidst all of the ‘bad boy’ tropes, their relationships are just so refreshing.)

FIRST LOVE, love at first sight, usually dynamics where the girl is the one to fall in love first, love at first sight is cultivated as she gradually gets to know the person and comes to truly love the person for who he is, potential for heartbreak, but there is strength in love, girl remains faithful, guy is usually the cool type character or perhaps callous or just oblivious, and you feel for the girl as she gets her heart broken, and you don’t know how it happens and even the guy doesn’t know how it happens, he wasn’t thinking about love at all but somehow he comes to consider the girl an irreplaceable part of his life now, and the payoff is so so so sweet

DORK IN LOVE WITH A TOUCH OF ABHORRENT ADMIRER, somewhat the reverse of the above, it’s the guy who’s more emotionally open, while the girl’s a bit closed off, guy is an actually puppy and a dumbass dork who wouldn’t hesitate about shouting his love for the girl from the rooftops, but he has his cool and badass moments, he fawns and spoils and can’t shut up about how great the girl is, while the girl is embarrassed or flustered or ticked off or all three, but the girl appreciates and shows her affection for the boy in subtle ways with an exasperated albeit fond ‘well, what can you do’ smile, she’ll still whack him when he gets too silly though

13th January 2021: Which feminist books do you recommend?

I have so many to recommend but I’ll just choose three: Living a Feminist Life by Sarah Ahmed, Hood Feminism by Mikki Kendall, and Ain’t I a Woman? by bell hooks. 

Oh, I’d also recommend The Wrongs of Woman; or, Maria by Mary Wollstonecraft if you want to read a classic feminist novella. It’s an unfinished novelistic sequel to A Vindication of the Rights of Woman and I found it really moving.
