Hey guys, the tech support forum for defunct camera models has been really helpful but this one is a mystery. I bought this Paillaed Bolex H16 from an estate sale for a steal because it has a bunch of weird stuff scratched into the case but when I was testing some of my camcorders the video gets all distorted any time I point it at the Bolex - it even happens with the digital models. I haven't been able to get any good pictures of it either, as you see. What's more bizarre is look at what happens to anything I shoot from the Bolex. Weird right? Even with fresh film I keep getting that superimposed exposure. Kinda looks like it's getting closer but that's probably my imagination. Anyway, has anyone seen anything like this before? A bunch of friends and myself are going to go on a long, isolated backpacking trip through the Mystery Vanishing Hikerdeath trails this weekend and I want to film it all with the Bolex.

thecybersmith is like the pope. When he dies, the official council of internet trolls gets together and elects someone else to take the position. We're now on the third thecybersmith since he came to infamy.
The first one focused on their petplay kink with bringing it up in random situations, like a conversation about women breastfeeding in public. This was thecybersmith Human Pet Guy.
The second didn't fully drop that aspect, but specialized into trans girls, including the idea that the UK could fix a shortage of milk by putting trans girls in chastity. This was thecybersmith Chaser The Benevolent.
The third thecybersmith is focusing more on trolling with "he can't possibly believe that, right?" like the Twitter posts about how he believes Santa is real and this has been proven by NORAD radar tracks. This is the current thecybersmith, Credulous The First.
This is why we've never been able to stop him. You kill him, he just regenerates. He's not a person, he's an idea. An institution. A tradition.
And just like most institutions and traditions, he's far from a force for good.

A lot of people around me are having kids and every day it becomes more apparent that hitting your children to punish them is insane because literally everything can be a horrible punishment in their eyes if you frame it as such.
Like, one family makes their toddler sit on the stairs for three minutes when he hits his brother or whatever. The stairs are well lit and he can see his family the whole time, he’s just not allowed to get up and leave the stairs or the timer starts over. He fucking hates it just because it’s framed as a punishment.
Another family use a baseball cap. It’s just a plain blue cap with nothing on it. When their toddler needs discipline he gets a timeout on a chair and has to put the cap on. When they’re out and about he just has to wear the cap but it gets the same reaction. Nobody around them can tell he’s being punished because it’s in no way an embarrassing cap, but HE knows and just the threat of having to wear it is enough.
And there isn’t the same contempt afterwards I’ve seen with kids whose parents hit them. One time the kid swung a stick at my dog, his mother immediately made him sit on the stairs, he screamed but stayed put, then he came over to my dog and gently said “Sorry Ellie” and went back to playing like nothing happened, but this time without swinging sticks at the nearby animals.
The psych nerds found out ages ago that punishments that make the child think for a few minutes (about one minute or year of age until they're tweens) is much more helpful to develope social intelligence and understanding than punishments which prevents thinking, like the ones that involve pain. In fact, corporal punishment encouraged lying, extreme reactions, violent outbursts, go figure, they don't trust you.

It's almost December, and although, with all y'all's help, I was able to pay the car insurance, I still have everything else and the car payment itself ($400) to pay, so for November, I'm behind a current total of $550.
December is gonna bring another $1,100 due, but at the moment, that's a problem for future!Reyah.

With December's bills now coming due and November's already/still being overdue, my overall need has gone from $550 to $1500 to get completely caught up and start the new year without 2023 still trying to burn my wallet to ashes.

Hiii, my partner has a few chalk pastel drawings based off of photos of us taken during intimate moments, plus a few paintings!
They have been applying everywhere but the only interview they've had so far declined to hire them. I'm unemployabley disabled and not recieving disability or financial assistence of any sort. We're very on edge, constantly almost out of food, and have bills due Dec 18.

We paid one out of three bills due yesterday and had to use $10 for gas to get to my doctor appointment today and we're back down to zero.
I have a dozen or so very particular circumstances of What Are You Doing Here where the only possible explanation is liking me in some way or another. However this puts me into the completely intolerable position of knowing some aspect of myself exists in a context that brings enrichment to other people, but with no idea what it is. I'm willing to accept that I can be perceived as enjoyable but I still do not know What Are You Doing Here about it.
