“You are my silence, my end-of-the-day respite from the needful world. And yet, all I want is your voice, your need, your… riotous body interrupting mine.”
— Peregrine
“You touch me in your pocket, roll me in your hand until I cry to be used, to be spent, to be spilled out, but you spend me a penny at a time, a penny at a time, and I’m left waiting, wanting, crying to be strewn across some bureau head and tail for you to use, to spend, to slap down on the counter for the whiskey of my skin.”
— Peregrine

Tadeusz Styka - Leda. (1940, Poland)
"Leda is a figure from Greek mythology who was famously seduced by Zeus when he took the form of a swan. She was a queen of Sparta. In order not to frighten Leda, Zeus turns into a swan. This is how it is depicted in every picture. However, in this painting, the transformation of Zeus into a swan and Leda falling in love with him is drawn in a different way. Here, the strings surrounding Leda's body represent Zeus. Because Zeus did not take Leda by force. But like these ropes, he wrapped Leda with his love, almost fascinated and neutralized it."

Alberto Vargas - "Christmas Tidings" - December 1945 Esquire Magazine Varga Girl Gatefold Illustration - Esquire Magazine Varga Girl Gatefold # 58 of 63 - Verse by Phil Stack
"It's funny how a simple telegram Can hold the key to all my happiness. But that's the way it is - the way I am - The reason isn't very hard to guess, For Jim is coming home to me again And Christmas will be lovely as before, And all the weary loneliness and pain Will vanish as he smiles at me once more;
I prayed for this, and now that it is here, I know that I will never let him go, That we can look to many a happy year When wreaths are hung and Christmas candles glow; When laughter and contentment fill our days And peace on earth is not an idle phrase!"
