Day and Night on Cemetery Road

a road i lived very close to when i lived in ontario. you could drive through this historic cemetery as a shortcut, which i did very often late at night. this cemetery is always quiet, but for some reason the deep winter snow somehow made it feel even more quiet and even more isolated

photos taken in and around niagara falls, on the canadian side. this motel has long since been abandoned and will likely be turned into something else. niagara falls is the perfect mix of old, past its prime motels and attractions (especially on the outskirts), and brand new and lit up things. some motels get to survive through being revamped, others decline and eventually shutter.

Carnival Queen

another few shots of the end of summer carnival - always a bittersweet time when i had summer break... august and early september was a time of mixed emotions. late summer when the heat is breaking and the storms are over and the carnival is in town but knowing that in a few weeks it would end and it would be time to go back to the real world
