Important message for Florida residents who may lose their job choosing to evacuate due to Hurricane Irma

If your employer threatens to dismiss you after choosing to evacuate, the Department of Labor's Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) clearly states that

"Each employer is responsible for the safety and health of its workers and for providing a safe and healthful workplace for its workers. Employers are required to protect workers from the anticipated hazards associated with the response and recovery operations that workers are likely to conduct."

So if your employer is threatening dismissal because you chose to evacuate during a hurricane, or actually dismisses you, you can fight back.

Employers do not have the right to put your life in danger.

I think the most Gemini thing my dad has ever done is one year he threw himself a reverse surprise party for the sheer drama of it. What is a reverse surprise party? you may ask, well let me tell you.
