i’m sorry but the way obi-wan and anakin are obsessed with each other is crazy to me. it’s been 10 years and vader is still crawling into every space dump to find obi-wan. it’s been 10 years and obi-wan is still dreaming about what happened. it’s been 10 years and still every inquisitor knows that vader really only cares about kenobi. it’s been 10 years and someone just mentions anakin and obi-wan goes into fight or flight mode. IT’S BEEN 10 YEARS and those f*ckers can still feel each other across the galaxy. that’s not normal, that’s just…. them.

vader's skeletal mask is so awful at night, the whole sweeping, looming expanse of him really, and i can totally understand why ewan said that he was legitimately scared on set when he saw him lmao it's just so viscerally satisfying to see vader be the villain he has the capacity to be, this scene, like the hallway in rogue one, is an essential example of vader at his apex (or nadir, arguably) as a pitiless killing machine, a predator who scarecely registered that anyone else's life had any value or their suffering any importance, and it's exactly right in being so wrong haha

I am laughing and crying at the same time, Obi-Wan having to deal with the daughter of two of his dearest friends, that he can still say, “You remind me of her.” but he can’t say, “You remind me of him.” and it’s not because she’s only like Padme, but because Obi-Wan can’t even look at his feelings for Anakin, they’re like staring into the sun, they’ll burn him blind if he goes near them, so he can only compare her to Padme, stubborn and clever, and try to just breathe around the white hot pain of how her smartass remarks and fondness for droids and her getting into everything reminds him of Anakin.  He can’t even think about Anakin, it would undo him, so he focuses on how like Padme Leia as.

I noticed this too and not only with Leia but with Luke also. In Obi-Wan's conversation with Owen he says that Luke is his responsibility and that he needs to be aware of the signs for being Force sensitive. That's only an excuse to justify why he wants to watch over Luke and it's one that he hides behind throughout most of the 1st episode. Obi-Wan's feelings about Luke and Leia are directly influenced by his friendships that he had with their parents. Obi-Wan wants to watch over Luke because he cares about him just as he cared for Anakin but like @gffa said, Obi-Wan can't bring himself to think about Anakin. So Obi-Wan hides his feelings by claiming that his actions come out of a sense of duty.
