my first ever LGBT character was a gay dude named Jim Cocker-Focker. I was 11 years old and my parents said that name was “a bit much”. Jim was one half of a Team Rocket-style duo tasked with kidnapping my friend and I for their mysterious boss who wanted us to go on some kind of heist that involved various locations around the world. Jim was incredibly camp and also incredibly frustrated because his companion, Bob, whom he had known since childhood, had still not noticed he was gay.

something I distinctly remember from 11-year-old me’s handwritten magnum opus was a scene at the first meeting where my friend and I are cornered and I say “are you… kidnapping us?” and Jim looked us up and down, curled his lip like he smelled something bad, and said “mmm… not dressed like that we aren’t”

the most recent ep of the good place had tahani in a dress which showed prominent stretch marks and it made me so happy and here’s jameelas pov making me even happier !

[Jameela is a trans postitive feminist, TERFS don’t interact]

Doctor: [singing to oneself]: Tka tka tooh, do do do do do do, de do do do do do beow beow beow beow beow beow buh nuh, bah dah buh buh buh buh, hey!

Someone else: Hey!

Doctor: What?

an extremely compelling dnd hook

So, I decided to officially make a Patreon. This is the beginning of it and please be patient with me as I try to figure it all out since I am pretty new to it.

My Patreon also comes along with a Discord server!

I have already put up exclusive content on there so far.

The fact that the prices are called tiers makes it sound more confusing.

A magical tier item is an artifact that as your character reaches certain levels the magical item gives you new features. The $5 also gives access to polls I plan on making of what I should make next. How specific that question is will vary since I haven’t made a poll yet.

They are 100% entirely homebrewed.

yes, I’m a DM, yes, I love writing, no, I don’t know how distance works. Is that building 100 feet away or 40 feet away? Should you be able to see something ten minutes down the road? Is 1,000 feet long? Is 30?? Is 6??? Could you walk across the continent in 2 weeks or 2 years? I hate this. I hate travel. I hate measurement. Fuck you.

Hey, D&D players!

A Facebook acquaintance of mine is working on her PhD, which involves studying the experiences of people – and particularly women – who play Dungeons and Dragons. (Yeah, she’s living the dream.) As part of her research, she’s passing around three surveys.

1. Main survey (open to all D&D players; takes about 10 minutes tops)

2. This survey asks people about their characters - very quick

3. Finally, this survey is aimed at non D&D players.

Please pass these around – let’s help this fellow nerd get a robust dataset!  (2/11/20)
