Something I love about the StarKid fandom is they’re always welcoming to new members.

No one is ever like ‘ugh new people in the shows? why isn’t it [insert name here]’ they’re just like ‘yay new members this will be great I bet we’ll love them!!!’

I feel like a lot of responses to change in fandoms are hostility-until-proven-otherwise. So it’s so lovely that in the StarKid fandom, based on a theatre company which is arguably more stagnant in comparison to, say, Broadway (by which I mean the model is based off using primarily the same small pool of actors, rather than new actors for every role), is often more positive to newcomers and change than in some MT fan spaces (*cough* people who constantly negatively compare actors with original casts).

2022 Goals

This year I set 5 goals. However they’re not very actionable as they’re rather about how I want to feel and be, so I written actionable mini goals to them. There are many minigoals and I don’t aim to get them all done. They’re rather a guide on how to achieve my main goals. Feel free to take inspiration and I’d love if you share your goals with me!

This year I want to be:

🌱 Healthy

  • take my meds regularly
  • set a solid sleep routine and get at least 8 hours of sleep at night
  • add 3 new healthy foods into my diet
  • spend time outside at least 3 times a week
  • move every day in some way
  • take a moment for my mental health every day (meditation, journaling…)
  • drink at least 5 glasses of water each day
  • go to therapy regularly
  • add casual movement into my life (more walking, taking the stairs, standing while working…)
  • journal
  • go for a long walk in nature at least twice a month
  • focus on proper rest every day

📚 Organised

  • check to-do lists daily
  • post on blog at least 3 times a week
  • check email and school socials daily
  • make cleaning as I go a habit
  • clean up once a week
  • plan week and meal plan every sunday

🥑 Fit

  • focus on strength training at least twice a week
  • be able to run/job 3km
  • outrun my brother
  • be able to do 10 push ups
  • learn to do a hand-stand
  • stretch at least twice a week
  • learn to do the splits
  • do mobility exercises at least twice a week
  • do a sports related activity at least once a month
  • try yoga

🔨 Independent

  • learn to do laundry
  • cook a new meal every two weeks
  • travel to new place by myself
  • take myself on a date every month
  • learn to communicate online effectvely (learn to write emails)
  • try simple home renovations by myself
  • do my own grocery shopping by myself
  • finish furnishing my home
  • move out completely (move things and books)
  • create a good cleaning routine
  • buy clothes for myself
  • go a week without help with anything

🌞 Happy

  • get back to reading regularly
  • call/hang out with friends at least once a week
  • decorate my home
  • treat myself to new videogames
  • spend more time with dad
  • do daily gratitude
  • play with pets at least twice a week
  • actively not make school a priority
  • finish started TV shows
  • create something at least once a month
  • learn to dance
  • explore new mediums in art
