Karby Amigurumi Pattern

Pattern is available on Ravelry and on Etsy.

Playing with unusual shapes again. Not a pattern I would suggest to beginners -  getting the car to look car-shaped is trickier than it seems.

I’ve realized I have patterns for two other mouthful mode items (lightbulb and traffic cone). Might just have to wrap Kirby around those too.

So…it’s been a while. Oops.

Do u crochet? Do u wanna make some cool pants? Do u wanna help a guy out and provide some measurements so I can grade these bad boys up to 6XL?

Yeah ofc u do yeehaw. All I need are hip circumference and crotch length (tons of yt vids show how to measure this but not a SINGLE size chart has it) from anyone size 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, and 6XL. Inches or cm it doesn’t matter, I just neeeeeeeed these damn numbers 🫡 I've made a handly little google form, just three simple questions, so if ur inclined to help, I'd massively appreciate it

Kyogre Amigurumi Pattern Revamp

Another amigurumi that really needed to be remade. I so clearly remember making the first one; it’s bizarre to think that was over 9 years ago!

Poppy is the fifth flower that I have added to the Mini Kingdom 🏰 collection. I had been planning to make it for a long time since it is very symbolic here in Ukraine. If you had the option to choose 3️⃣ more flowers for the Mini Kingdom, which ones would you choose? 😊 Crochet pattern for amigurumi Ukrainian Family is available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Italian, Dutch and Ukrainian here -> https://etsy.me/3HYM2Kt 💛💙

fiber arts really is such an insane category of Things in how it can draw you in. like, 6 or 7 years ago i learnt to crochet and made a few terrible hats and scarves. then i learnt to knit because i wanted to knit a scarf for my friend (now fiance :D). then i realized it should be a woven scarf so i picked up weaving instead, but i still really liked knitting so now i was doing 3 crafts. somewhere along the way i started dyeing yarn as part of my kitchen experiments, and then i was like fuck it i wanna make my own yarn ! and that is where the problems happened. in the span of like 5 years ive acquired like $2000 of various tools (spinning wheel, combs, cards, blending board, several looms, etc), bought dozens of fleeces, and now my bedroom is basically a craft room with a bed, i have wool covering every flat surface in there as well as a huge dresser full of wool and several large drawers full of wool, i meticulously scrape every last bit of avocado out of the peel so i can use it to dye fleece, and i don’t go anywhere (including in my own house) without at least 2 knitting projects and a spindle.

im not complaining or anything, but the rapid shift from ‘guy who does stuff, idk’ to ‘guy who is worryingly obsessed with wool and will infodump at length about medieval sheep husbandry and the history of nettle as a textile if you give him half a chance’ is like. extremely funny to me.

fiber artists be like “this project has shaven years off my life. for endless hours I have toiled with no end in sight, a man dying in the desert of my own foolishness. my loved ones will find my withered remains hunched over in my armchair, skeletal hands grasping the finished piece that drove me to my early grave. ooooh that pattern looks awesome I must start it right away”

people think knitting and crochet are nothing more than quaint little old lady hobbies and like, they absolutely are little old lady hobbies among other things but you should also know that in the fiber community there’ve been multiple cases of indie yarn sellers faking their deaths to try dodging accountability for being bad business owners

I'm sorry, they will WHAT, now?!?

Yeah apparently if you use the wrong brand or the wrong fiber content you get bullied so bad the mods of one subreddit banned discussions about certain topics altogether. I know I won't post there anymore.

Wow holy shit and I thought the needle wars (mostly joking) were bad

I know people get crapped on for crocheting or for using the “wrong” fiber, but I must be in the wrong subreddits cuz I’ve never seen the dramas on Reddit. Brb I’m gonna go look for it, even though I know it’ll probably give me a headache. Needle wars, lol

Needle wars were not a reddit drama, it's just my observation that in any given knitting-related group, the SECOND someone asks anything along the lines of "what's the best needle material?" no one can ever agree.

Never met anyone who actually likes plastic needles so I THINK we can at least all agree that those are awful?
