@charterandbarter

i just love good fanfic yall

kim dokja makes me insaaaane hes such a hypocrite he HATES that his mother's most tangible love for him was through self sacrifice and yet that's also the only way he's learned to express love himself. the cycle of destroying yourself for everyone you love and knowing they'll resent you for it but feeling like it's what you owe them... it's unbreakable! he is in the cycle no matter how much he hates it! man!!!

To everyone saying shit like “Omg it’s no big deal it’s just a gif who cares if it’s reposted”. Go make me a gif set right now. Go make me a gif with fading and moving text with stroke, 256 colors, 0% lossy, 100% dither, while keeping it under 2 MB. Oh and don’t forget to check the frame delay because it could be 0.03 or 0.04 or any number of others depending on the source material. And do that 6 times for a single gifset. Go do that, and when you’re done I’ll steal and repost it.

The ramen shop was inherently ridiculous.

The humans had never eaten ramen. There was no reason for them to have ever eaten ramen. Humanity was mostly descended from inhabitants of Central and South America, who had absorbed the survivors of the United States of America, and most didn’t have the inclination or supplies for a lot of East Asian foods. They reproduced semolina through domesticating a worm that produced a frothy byproduct chemically similar to durum wheat, and they utilized a certain breed of fungus to experience the rapturous joys of beer. Semolina made easy couscous and fancier noodles, but it didn’t make great ramen.

So it made no sense to build a popular ramen restaurant in the upper districts of July. It didn’t stop them. It didn’t stop July from bulging with restaurants hawking alien foods and stores selling the novel and the obscene. Was that a video game store ?

The sheer amount of electricity this place ate up was insane. The sheer amount of wealth that its commerce was built upon: the assumption that your house had electricity, that your kids didn’t have ranch work and chores to fill their days. The video game was a large box with a screen on one end and a series of buttons and joysticks built into the side, and judging from the sample screens the game wasn’t very interesting, but - video games! What’s next, television?

In which shit hits the fan.

Sorry for the tremendous lateness - shit has been VERY insane over here. This chapter's a whammy, and I'm very interested in people's reactions. Next chapter is the finale. This chapter was I think the hardest to write, and the most difficult chapter of anything I've written in a long time. Vash is a nut.

Clark is literally just minding his business! Just walking down the hall, after an elevator interview with Luthor! And baby Dick Grayson immediately just fucking CLOCKS HIM as different. Didn't even see him rescue anyone! No amazing feats of strength! No super speed! No weird coincidences! Just Clark Kent walking down a hallway and Dick Grayson is immediately ALL THE HELL OVER HIM and he's RIGHT. And he knows when someone is cheating, he may not know how yet (alien with x-ray vision, to be fair, is a bit out there for his current level of experience), but that kid KNOWS WHEN SOMEONE IS CHEATING. Also, absolutely PHENOMENAL that, while Bruce apparently leaves Dick in the LEXCORP KIDZ-ZONE while he's busy, I'm sure Dick loved that, even at thirteen years old.

people who say dokja wrote reader insert fic of him and yjh are WRONG. kdj would never write self insert he’s a ‘cishet’ office worker in his twenties who’s extremely repressed and mildly homophobic. the only romantic sense he’s considered yjh in is with lee seolhwa. plus him selfshipping would require him to acknowledge that yjh has more than two personality traits. kdj only discovered he’s bisexual ten years after the apocalypse and you think he has anything approaching the mentality to selfship with a guy? there’s no way there’s just no way.

Obsessed with the idea of sacrifice in a book being a selfish act rather than a selfless one. Their lover screaming at them: “How dare you leave me in this barren world? How dare you take away my choice to die for you and leave me with this grief?”. They are dead, and their lover is left - a gaping wound - bleeding into the ground. Do they love them so much that they would die for them, or do they love them so much that they forced the other to live without them. Sacrifice as a bitter act. Sacrifice as something wildly violent; something tormentingly cruel — but always, always built on love. Perhaps, they are both martyrs in the end.

I always forget that when some people ship characters it's because they want them to fuck and not because they think they exist as twisted parallels of each other. "we all have the same goal, to see them fuck." I personally have the goal of coring them like apples and showing them they're the same or could have been under different circumstances.
