being in your early 20s is crazy bc there’s people who are literally married and people who’ve never even dated and people who are trapped in their childhood bedrooms waiting to get out and people who are trying to live out romanticized dream lives and people who are completely on their own and people with multi tiered support systems and we’re all supposedly peers and none of us think we’re doing it right at all

Why do I get so embarrassed about liking things? It’s the internalized ableism “Oh, I’m talking about crustaceans too much today ohhh how embarrassing that people know I like crayfish wahhh!” That little middle school bully inside me that tells me it’s embarrassing to be too excited about things.

If I moved to Maryland or Maine I could talk about crabs and lobsters for hours and everyone would just think I’m a normal guy.

tumblr is actually the least usable social media because its userbase is 99% people who need to be the smartest person in the room at all times, which leads to a phenomenon i call "no-anding," where people are only able to engage with a joke post by being like "ummmm actually op [smugly attempts to refute the premise of the joke for some reason] 😏"

Because when we leave the bananas on the table without the bowl she stares at them with just as much love!!! She ONLY looks at the empty bowl right after we remove the last banana. Then she’s no longer interested

i don’t understand why some fanfiction writers will put all of there work in one giant paragraph. i am constantly abusing a paragraph break. i use it every five seconds. new subject? new paragraph. slightly different angle? new paragraph. any sentence that holds any amount of weight? boom new paragraph. i will use one word then do another paragraph break. you can’t stop me.

some people are taking "doomed" to mean "dead". this is actually a misconception! you can be doomed even if you don't die! it's sometimes worse if you don't die!

I think one of the most damaging ideologies towards children is the conviction that having children isn’t a calling but a moral obligation.

Not to be a crazy radical or anything, but children deserve to be deeply wanted by their parents.

Children shouldn’t be a “stage” in life that everyone is obligated to fulfill; childrearing is not for everyone. More importantly, children shouldn’t be state-enforced punishments for “irresponsible” sexual behavior.

Children are people with thoughts and feelings just like the rest of us. They are conscious of the way people treat them. And they can certainly tell when they are unwanted and/or resented.
