Mushroom Hell :)

@chaosmushroom

As you can guess I like fungi. Ya boi plays the the tenor sax and bassoon, has a bubble tea addiction, and is a gaymer. Pronuns are She/They

Non-autistics living with autistics:

They keep eating the same freaking food and it frustrates me so much! We can't have the "big scary light" on just lamps everywhere! Even when I try to find peace by doing stuff with them they just ignore me and do whatever they want. They can't even do the simplest of things like go with me to the grocery store every week! How do people expect them to survive in society??

Autistics living together:

So as long as we get my 10 packets of this really specific food, and some snacks, I'll be okay. Also is it cool if you go to the grocery store? I can clean the bathroom since thats bad sensory for you and the store is bad sensory for me. Can you turn on the lamp instead of the big light? It gives me a headache. Thanks man. Yea I'll unplug the TV for you since you can hear the high pitched noise. Do you want to do two separate things in the same room as bonding again this evening? Thats my favorite part of the day too.

i was trying to collect more shitty ms paint doodles we all use and vibe with and then i realize i also have ms paint and can just MAKE some

When I was a child, many of my sensory issues were used as the butt of jokes by my family. I had many phobias due to these issues, but they were laughed off as they were seen as "extreme" or over the top.

Examples would be I was terrified of pinecones as young as 3 because I thought they were visually disturbing and dangerous. So, at the age of 4/5, we were in a park and I handed my mum my jacket so I could use the public loo. She proceeded to fill the pockets, sleeves and hood with pinecones.

I had a meltdown in the middle of a forest. I screamed and collapsed and i was told I was overreacting.

Now, this isn't good behaviour for an adult for any child.

But when you're an undiagnosed autistic, you begin to learn that your sensory pain doesn't matter. It's too much, and needs to be ignored.

Holding the door closed whilst the toilet flushed, another sensory pain was one done to me "for laughs". I was told it wasn't that big of a deal and I needed to grow up.

So, is it any wonder that late diagnosed (and probably many early diagnosed) autistics ignore their own needs? We don't want to be too much. We don't want to rock the boat and endure being told that we're overreacting and to just shut up.

Why do people just not give Kaeya his OWN found family, i know we all wish for the brothers conflict to be resolved but Kaeya deserves to know and realize there ARE people who will unconditionally love him and choose him regardless of the burdens he comes with THEN he will be in a better place to resolve things with his brother

I don't know of a specific fic. But a lot of folks play with the idea of him babysitting Klee. A lot of cute fics of Klee staying at Kaeya's apartment because Albedo is in Dragonspine and Jean is too busy and Klee had a nightmare. Of course a lot of people go shippy with him and Albedo. But they could also just be bros watching Klee. Bonding over their Khaenri'ah trauma has definitely come up in fics. And the fear that they might hurt Klee and Mondstadt because of that history.

Not to mention Jean! Jean's been with Kaeya since Diluc left. She was their childhood friend and possibly Diluc's ex? Regardless they've been working in the knights for the last 3 years together. Kaeya might have told her what happen he might not have. at the very least Jean knows they had a fight after Diluc's dad died that led to Kaeya getting his vision and Diluc left right after. Jean understanding why Kaeya might want to avoid his brother after his return and not pushing it. Jean threatening Diluc if he ever hurts Kaeya like that again.

Also Barbara! The two younger siblings teaming up against the older siblings back in the day. She's busy being head Priestess now so they haven't had many onscreen interactions. But I'm sure she patches up Kaeya after jobs gone wrong just like Bennett. Also plenty of room for awkward conversations about the gods and "sinners".

Then all this coming together when the Abyss or Kaeya's dad returns for him. And everyone being like "No! You can't have him! He's one of us!" which again I've seen a few fics use.

so yes there's other characters Kaeya can and probably has built a found family with. There just really needs to be more fic about it. Platonic friendships are just as important as romantic relationships!

AU where Alhaitham meets Nahida just after he graduated and realised that it’s uhhhhh pretty fucked up for the sages to keep a kid isolated and imprisoned even if said kid is actually an immortal 500+ god. So he and Nahida hatch a plan and it ends up with Lesser Lord Kusanali going missing and Alhaitham ‘taking in his cousin after her parents passed away in an unfortunate but completely normal accident.’ I like to think since the sages don’t care about Nahida they probably don’t know what she exactly looks like and probably don’t check her cell often so they don’t really have anything more than a vague description of her and Alhaitham and Nahida share a similar colour palette so look just enough alike to pass as relations.

Since Nahida isn’t actually a child Alhaitham just teaches her basic skills, how to keep herself safe and then pretty much leaves her to it and she gets to run around Sumeru doing whatever catches her interest but still has a place and home to return to. No one really notices that she doesn’t age because Alhaitham doesn’t exactly tell anyone he has a kid living with him and she’s always out and often exploring outside the city so they’re not often seen together.

Anyway fast forward to Kaveh moving in and he is very shocked to see that Alhaitham has a daughter. Especially a daughter he lets run wild with no concern to her safety (“no Alhaitham it doesn’t matter that she has a vision she’s a child!!”). Since they don’t want the sages to find out Nahida and Alhaitham decide it’s probably best not to tell Kaveh that she is in fact the Dendro Archon and older than them both put together, which leads to lots of domestic shenanigans with Kaveh trying to help parent a little god who doesn’t need a parent but is rather pleased at being loved. Alhaitham thinks it’s funny but also very inconvenient. Kaveh adores his littlest roommate.
