I’m actually a HUGE fan of both Cym-K (Narrator on the left) and SteamPoweredWerehog (Narrator on the right) Narrator designs, so one could assume that I become very extatic when I see they like my posts! Thank you both very much for enjoying my content (hopefully) as much as I enjoy yours. (As well as everyone else: you’re all great, even though you all scare me 🙃)

its definitely in the text that season 8 and beyond is about unity but they really sink it by having twilight state "there are places beyond equestria that know nothing about friendship" everytime she says it it just irks me such a wrong way. really, twilight. you think all these civilizations were built without anypony getting along

Waking up this morning remembering the crazy emotional whiplash I’ve had with the Drawn to Life games
Drawn to Life: a classic, have played through several times for fun and nostalgia
Drawn to Life-The Next Chapter: good build up on the second game with an interesting storyline but could never get myself to play all the way through before I lost interest
Drawn to Life-The Two Realms: genuinely the least fun time I’ve every had playing a video game in my entire life I’d rather watch my TV explode than ever pick it up again
It suuuucks the Two Realms has such an amazing pixel art style and the story caught my interest (especially since they seemed to stick with the “my parents died in a terrible car accident and I was in a coma the whole time” ending of The Next Chapter) only to have the most miserable game play I’ve ever witnessed
I understand not wanting to stick with the same level design of the first two, and the idea does sound like an interesting concept on paper )having various objects to get your character to the end of the level on a set path) but oh my god I can’t think of anything more tedious to slog through than retrying the level over and over and over and OVER because one thing you placed is just ever so slightly off
At the end I was basically brute forcing my way through the levels just to get to the story cutscenes (one level I was struggling with actually took mercy on me and glitched to a win) and like… that is a pretty terrible game experience to sit through
And like! I feel like the level exploration of the first two still holds up! Yeah it can be kind of basic but it was really fun going over the whole area and finding all the different secret spots to get objects you needed to complete the level or bonus secret stuff
I feel like that’s something you could add more depth to to make it more interesting without sucking all the joy out of it
Absolutely agree. As someone who loved both DTL entries, Two Realms felt disappointing. Like you said, great art/style and story, but the gameplay was frustrating.
Literally had to take a break at some point before just working my way through it so I could discuss it with a friend.
I really WANTED to like this game, and I was so excited when I heard we were getting a new entry, but whenever I think about replaying the series, I hesitate to play Two Realms.

in the future i'd like to make a shadow raposa version. i wouldve added shadow features to this (like heather's half-shadow thing) but it wouldve taken.. a very long time to get it working.
