men b like wow I’ve never met a girl who liked music before..

You obviously know nothing about men if this is what you think they say

Men will see a mouse and eat it

No they won’t because why would anyone eat a mouse that’s stupid not all men are bad and not all men are stupid you may have had a bad experience with a man but not all men are bad granted there bad men but instantly accusing all men as bad is immature I’m dating a man and he is nowhere near stupid and I know for a fact that he won’t eat a mouse and in pretty sure I could name at least five other men that won’t do something as immature as that and saying that a man will see a mouse and eat it won’t get you a anywhere with a man if anything it will drive them away.

A man will see a mouse and be like is anyone else gonna eat this and not wait for an answer

disability advocacy went wrong when it became about inspiration porn and “differently abled” and savants. its incredible that that guy with no legs did a triathlon but your sister with no legs will not and she doesnt need prosthetics or five hour training days to deserve respect and compassion and accommodations. its incredible that that autistic guy can look at a city from a helicopter for an hour and then draw the entire detailed skyline from memory when he lands but your autistic friend cannot and they dont need to have a special Autism Power to deserve respect and compassion and accommodations.

activism framed around “we are just as CAPABLE” means that when people genuinely are less capable they are left behind. activism framed around “we are just as WORTHY” is fundamental to radical compassion.

“Corporations supporting things like BLM and Pride is largely performative and shouldn’t be overly praised or focused on. They’re just trying to do what they think will earn them money” and “Corporations openly showing support for things like BLM and Pride are incredibly important” and not mutually exclusive ideas.

Corporation support is not the source of social change, it’s the visible indication of it. A mall covered in rainbow flags with ‘pride month sales!’ is nothing that makes LGBT people more accepted, nor do tweets from companies about supporting the BLM protests do anything to stop police violence, but they DO show the shift in public mindset. Corporations don’t take risks. They don’t make bold statements that they feel are unpopular or will lose them money or support. They’re a litmus test for when a statement or symbol that has been taboo becomes a commonly held belief.

When a corporation makes these kinds of statements, it means that the people out there fighting every day for these movements are having an effect. Their fight is causing a change in social perception to the point where businesses who carefully choose every single thing they say can post about solidarity with protesters and feel confidant that they are saying something that represents the feelings and beliefs of the majority. A mall being covered in Pride flags is a sign that the country will accept a mall filled with Pride flags. That those working to make social and cultural change are succeeding.

This this this this FUCKING THIS.

“it’s not nothing to have moved the needle so far that companies have decided the big money is on the side of pandering to us instead of to the people who hate us”

There’s a special kind of fuck you in it that says ‘we are willing to lose our racist, homophobic, bigoted customers in favor of welcoming a more diverse one.”

Nothing could be more horrifying for a rich white person then to find out their money is worthless.

I say this every time these kind of posts come across my dash but it bears repeating: You cant match the quasi-religious experience I had when coming from homophobic/transphobic Venezuela to visit Canada for the first time with my homophobic family. In JUNE. and finding entire malls (even SHOE STORES) hanging pride flags and TD Bank having ads with gay couples and having rainbow ATMs. It shook my entire existence and made me feel like I could have a life if I moved to Canada. It definitely had an impact to me.

me: time isn’t real
me: why did it take you exactly 3 hours 24 min and 36 seconds to respond to my text

The Good Place really said “People improve when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them, when they don’t?” and "We choose to be good because of our bonds with other people" and "What matters isn’t if people are good or bad. What matters is if they’re trying to be better today than they were yesterday" and "If soulmates do exist, they aren't found, they're made" and "That knowledge [that life ends] is what gives life meaning" and "The answer is friends" and "That’s what the Good Place really is — it’s not even a place, really. It’s just having enough time with the people you love" and I think that's very sexy of them
