Really wish words like “crossdresser” and “transvestite” didn’t get pushed out of people’s vocabulary cause now we’ve got 20yr olds who genuinely believe the two modes of expression are True Transgender and Valor Thief. Seeing takes like “men dressing as women is making a mockery of the transfeminine experience” (predominantly regarding F1nn5ter or celebs in skirts). Like ohhhh you are so right! We need to protect the divine feminine from any measure of mockery. You know what? We should gather weapons and storm our nearest Drag Story Hour and teach those degenerates a lesson.

Kinda frustrated that this post is still being made out to be all about whether you like Finn or not—or hell, just about Finn at all, when it was never about him specifically, it was tangentially related to the way people talk about him publicly, which is how people get talked about in community and I don’t like it.

His supporters try to egg crack him or assign labels to him he doesn’t claim, all in an attempt to prove he is “valid” in his identity. He cannot just be a guy doing shit, he has to be “so revolutionary”, he has to be “braver than any trans person I know.” For fuck sake meet some trans people.

Those that hate him are just…also being transphobic. Including trans people who hate him. Yes, chasers are a problem, but holy shit the solution is not to go “if you wear a skirt in the bedroom as a guy, you are capitalizing off of trap stereotypes and are actually more transmisogynistic than any transphobe who comes at you for it.” The constant thrum that any experimentation with femininity or femaleness that isn’t immediately identified as a trans woman doing it is transmisogynistic has got to fucking die. That’s a 2015 dumbshit grindr take. Stop saying it on a public platform.

The way people talk about him negatively is how crossdressers and gnc people and transfemmes who aren’t women get talked about by transphobes! The way people talk about him ‘positively’ is taking that skewed idea of gender and going “no, no, he’s actually one of the good ones—what he’s doing is so unique and unheard of and makes her—I mean him—sooo trans!”

I don’t care if you like him or hate him, I’m irritated with both camps because nothing being said about him hasn’t been said to gnc people before! You are either given honorary trans status to prove you belong (cause you don’t without a valid label) or you are actually the sole reason why trans people women are hatecrimed!

This discourse repeats over and over. It happens with nonbinary people. Either you are given an honorary 3rd trans gender label or you’re a transtrender. Butches are an honorary addition to womanhood unless you do not identify wholly with womanhood and then you’re some freak invader. Transfemmes are trans women who wanna feel special until you do not wholly identify with womanhood and then youre a violent cis man invader. Transmascs are trans men who wanna feel special until you don’t identify wholly with maleness and then you’re a whiny theyfab. Femme as a label has been sooo watered down to mean “nonthreatening petite woman, possibly gay man.” If you are that then you’re fine, if you are anything else you are neither femme nor welcome in spaces that “welcome women and femmes.”

My grief is with the entire dichotomy of uwu valid identity vs threatening invader, not with which side you take.

And that so many in the notes go “actually this is an attack on me for not liking him when really he [transphobic rant]” or “exactlyyy finn has done so much more for the trans community than any trans person because [transphobic assumptions about the community]” is actually maddening because you both are doing the shit that pisses me off while pointing at each other as the one in the wrong.

Given that he’s now come out as genderfluid I wanna reiterate: fuck you guys

And I just got confirmation from a second ex-colleague that a deal with midjourney has been brewing since months ago. Not any extra details, just that's a real thing.

Shit, I don't see any way for this to happen that doesn't make it an apocalyptic event the size of the porn ban. Fuck.

This may be pure chance and coincidence, and it's not he is in a position to be able to talk about anything, but seeing prominent staff members announcing they are moving their original photography out of tumblr just two weeks ago seems a pretty significant cue of shit to be about to hit the fan.

Just tested. It’s possible to swap out pictures on already-published posts. So in that case, a solution:

Nightshade your photo posts now.

Even if you don’t post your own art anymore, go back to your old stuff and watermark it.

Do it ASAP, before the deal goes through and the scraping begins.

This will not only protect your art, but has the opportunity to fuck over this deal on a pretty large scale. The more of these posts that are glazed or poisoned, the less valuable this deal becomes for tumblr and midjourney.

*not strictly true but when you're talking about a website with no other physical locations its best to think of it this way
