My top 10 BL characters this season.

So I started this year strong in watching some well loved BL dramas and I plan to go the whole year catching up on everything. I’ve decided another fun thing to do besides weekly watch list recaps would be to do a top 10 list of my favorite characters from the shows I’ve watched. The characters in this list can be from any BL show I’ve seen, and it doesn’t have to be from this particular season. So without further ado..the list!

1) Type from TharnType

So I’ve come to the realization I like them bratty. I like when they have a backbone and don’t give in too easily. I like when they are just so frustrating and sassy and just a general pain in the ass. And Type is all of those things, and I just love him for it. Never change Type. You are perfect the way you are.

2) Tutor from Why R U?

Tutor is one of those characters that looks like an angel, but is actually a little devil in disguise. This boy knows exactly what he is doing at any given moment, and especially the effect he has on Fighter. He has the cute appeal, he has the sexy appeal, and he fluctuates between both within seconds. You never know if he’s going to be on top or on the bottom and it really just depends on his mood. And I can relate to that too well lol.

3) Pat from Bad Buddy

Literally the dream boyfriend. The moment he realizes his feelings, he’s in deep and already head over heels dedicated to Pran. He chases the boy on a trip where he doesn’t know anyone, and all Pran’s friends are hostile to him. But he doesn’t give AF because he only has eyes for one man. And he never loses sight of Pran for even a second.

4) Black from Not Me

I just think he’s such a badass. Do I need to give more of an explanation? Dude gives zero fucks and will kick your ass without any hesitation. The fact he took down a swat team and rescued his entire gang was so fucking cool. I guess he’s similar to Tutor in that he looks like an angel, but he really is a devil. And no, he doesn’t fluctuate from that. He’s hardcore.

5) Pan as Kim from The Shipper

This one is more complicated. But I basically love the character Pan as Kim. Where she has changed bodies. The dynamic with this was so interesting and hilarious to me. How her mannerisms came off so odd and a little weird as she was occupying Kim’s body. And her little, “Ehhh?!” was so iconic. How could I not include that in my list?

6) Green from 2gether

I love a fierce flamboyant queen. Green was the comedy of this entire show and it was sorely needed. I also love that towards the end and the sequel he plays more a role of a good friend, and less obsessive stalker lol.

7) Kongpob from SOTUS

Here’s another fierce queer..maybe a little less flamboyant? I dunno. Openly flirting with the head hazer in front of your entire class though lmao. Dude won me over from the very first episode. The balls on this man.

8) Yok from Not Me

He’s just saying what we’re all thinking, let’s be honest here. Outright asking if the reason Dan did a background check on him was because he was interested. Just all the damn flirting, omg. Do I have a cop kink? Yes, officer. And do I get to live it through Yok? Yes.

9) Porsche from KinnPorsche

Didn’t really want to put this character down since I’ve only seen 2 episodes, but ya’ll. Ya’ll. This guy is giving me all the bratty vibes I just want!! I know he’ll probably change his tune later in the story but his reluctance to bend to Kinn’s will is just so entertaining to me. I also love the duality of hot AF bartender-ladies man to then just literal dumbass that jumps off a boat to escape. I’m really looking forward to the rest of his story.

10) Kuea from Cutie Pie

And last but certainly not least, Kuea. This was a hard choice for me, because I feel like I love the four main guys equally. But I think Kuea’s “secret” side of himself is more entertaining, and especially as he tries to hide all of this from Lian. It has been lovely to watch his “perfect cutie pie” face crack under the pressure though. And I hope by the end of the show he’s able to be completely honest with his fiancé. And that Lian will love that bratty side of him just as much.
