My 20yo film student daughter thinks it’s one of the greatest shows ever. They’re out there.

The M*A*S*H series finale holds the most watched episode of any television series, and up until 2010 held the record for most watched broadcast in American history.

The show is absolutely amazing and hilarious. It shows the horrors of war and has great comedy and characters. Take Scrubs and put it in the Vietnam war and you have MASH (for those that don’t know, MASH stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital).

It’s really cool, I watch it with my dad all the time

So the movie that was showing in Lysandre Cafe is a shout out to the 1995 French movie La cité des enfants perdus (The City of Lost Children). Yamamoto’s tweet also mentioned that since this is supposedly Diantha’s debut movie, he gave her a hairstyle that Audrey Hepburn actually sported as a child. Neato!

Never watched the movie, but I looked up the plot online, and it’s about an evil scientist guy who uses a machine that steals the dreams of children in hopes of giving himself immortality. Huh…not quite a perfect match, but it’s very apt.

And wow, the part where Lysandre says how beautifully Diantha played a young girl and how wonderful it would be for her to be young and beautiful forever is extra levels of messed up considering that the way Miette (the girl) beat the bad guy involved aging herself up into an old woman (it makes sense in context). Hot damn.

So in this interview on The Krotons DVD, Frazer Hines tells how he once snuck into the studio during the lunch hour and got inside one of the Daleks just to roll around in it and play pretend.

Then he heard somebody come in and he froze so he wouldn’t get told off, and it was two actors who leaned on the Dalek he was in and started bad-mouthing the show. (Not knowing he was in there.)

Partway through their conversation, Frazer rolled away going “I HEARD THAT. I’M TELLING.” in a Dalek voice.
