how miserable do you have to be to see all media you consume as material for cutesy coffee shop au ship fics or something do you genuinely not know how to enjoy media any other way

i really can't imagine playing or watching or reading something and my first thought being how shippable the characters are and how cool it would be to put them in a completely different setting and give them completely different personalities just so they can kiss. it feels like such a sad way to live

I actually don’t care how YOU think people look, what YOU think is stupid, or what YOU think is necessary. These are subjective, you get that, right? Does fanfiction hurt you? No? Ok. Then shut the fuck up. This really isn’t hard. Your opinions are not universal, get over thinking that they are. If you don’t like something, move on. If it’s harming you or someone you know, you can choose to raise your concerns, or to move on. But fanfiction is literally so harmless and provides a lot of enjoyment for some people, and the ONLY reason to continue to criticize is because you want people to feel shame over how they choose to enjoy their limited time on this earth. That’s not ok. There is enough shame already. You can do something better with your time. Get a hobby. Maybe try woodworking.

Even though some fanfiction is problematic… JK Rowling is problematic, so we should burn all fantasy books. Hamilton is problematic so no one gets to enjoy any musical theater anymore, and if you’ve ever enjoyed any musical ever that’s a huuuuge red flag. And while we’re at it no one can ever write or read plays or poetry anymore since Shakespeare was a sexist piece of shit. Sounds pretty ignorant and close minded, huh? Yeah, so do you.

You know what wouldn't get done without money? Useless work, work in abusive situations, or jobs with unreasonable workloads. LBR, it would still be possible to have sanitation but absolutely no one would willingly be a call center worker.

I really need people trying to make posts about fat positivity and acceptance to understand that even in a perfect society w unlimited access to healthcare and a variety of food that there will still be fat people and thats ok.

posts that attribute fatness to healthcare and access to "healthy food" are not helpful, and also inaccurate to modern scientific understandings of how the human body works. Genes more than anything else predict your weight. the right kind of food or diet isn't gonna suddenly make people thinner (there isn't a single diet to date that's been proven to at all work). medicalizing fatness is unbelievably harmful, and the vast majority of medical issues said to be caused by fat.... aren't actually caused by them. some are loosely correlated, but many of them aren't even that. And even when people have conditions that lead to fatness, the fat should never be the focus! being fat helps you survive these conditions, and should never be "treated", especially not before any other medical problem.

Fat people don't deserve acceptance and positivity because they're victims who've been denied the right treatment, they deserve radical acceptance no matter why they're fat because they are human beings existing in a natural state. All human beings deserve the same respect and acceptance.

I loved napping by the river in my old town I would lay on the old ash I called the Drunken Tree since it lay at an angle across a bit of the river with its roots in the water and I would close my eyes and listen to the river rocks clunking and rolling along the bottom of the river. To do nothing while the river runs is a feeling of true bliss

how are there people that can even remotely function on weed. im straight up moaning like a beast drinking milk

This is kinda funny to me because I am most effective and functional buzzed, weed gives me the space to breathe in my own brain and without it I’m irritable, anxious, panicky adhd mess…I am much more likely to fuck up and hurt myself or make a mess and cry about it and not be able to get my life back together if I’m not stoned lol
