don’t follow if ur under 16

Howdy!

I’m Johnny, y’all can also call me Gwyn / Grin or Party

please don’t follow me if you are under the age of sixteen. Don’t talk about bandom RPF with me. I tend to not follow people back but it’s nothing personal, I just have a lot of followers & don’t check everyone’s blogs

I write and draw pretty frequently. associated tags are “my writing” and “art tag” respectively. Almost all my art has image descriptions with it but some of my older stuff doesn’t. Please let me know if you notice a typo in the descriptions!

please please put descriptions & IDs on your content please please please you want to make it accessible to blind & visually impaired users sooooo bad ooooooooooo

I don’t mind adding IDs and descriptions to other people’s posts but it always reminds me that accessibility is an afterthought to a lot of people. Please just start putting them on your posts if you’re able to.

MCR bloggers start putting image descriptions & ALT text on your things or I’ll tape your eyes shut and make you try to piece together your dashboard by saying “there’s a picture here. the caption is WHAT THE FUCK and the tags are I’m Gonna Kill Him.” and there is zero way to tell what the picture is. at all. it could be anything and you won’t know. because there is no description or ALT text.

Put descriptions or ALT text on your shit.

July is disability pride month.

Make your posts accessible.

I’m gonna say this again since folks keep tagging popular blogs in that tumblr blackout post with not a second thought about how disabled folks will be affected by it

First off- starting an indefinite blackout from the start of disability pride month IS ableism. Intentional or not. I do not care if it’s a “statement about accessibility.” You cannot talk like you care about disabled people by silencing our voices. Majority of disabled folks I’ve seen have been explaining over and over again why this is a monumentally shit idea which is just going to hurt us.

Second- We are not Reddit. So you can’t copy paste something that worked there and hope that’ll work here. Do we not remember the blackouts in the past that did not fucking work? Also- I say this as someone who is disabled and cares deeply about accessibility- there is an extreme difference in the severity of the issues that are going on with Reddit and what’s going on here. Poorly review tumblr, stop buying crabs, stop fucking blazing posts. Dude. We are also not in a union or employed by tumblr. WE CAN’T BE SCABS.

Thirdly- I’m presuming that most people who’ve been reblogging the og post have other social media sites they can go to. That they can easily go to like, Instagram, that they have friends irl, and they have the ability to leave the house. A lot of disabled people on here don’t have that. They’ve been bullied off social media platforms like Instagram or Twitter or Tiktok for being disabled, they don’t have a solid friendship group in real life and some of them can’t actually leave the house without help. I don’t want disabled people to be completely alone during disability pride month. They deserve to at least deserve to keep their support network on the funny hellsite.

And if I sound angry it’s because I am. I’m angry about disabled people being lowest priority yet again. I’m angry at our own month being used against us because of “accessibility”. I’m angry thinking about disabled people being isolated during a time that should be celebratory. I’m not being chronically online or overreacting or “trying to be an activist.” I’m just a disabled person who would absolutely be negatively impacted by this blackout that has apparently been timed with our accessibility needs in mind but no caring for how disabled people will be effected.

I don’t know if the plans have been updated. Honestly I struggled to even read the og post because of the font and the inaccessible use of language. But I do want ableds to know that they cannot say they’re participating in this blackout to benefit disabled people.

Feel free to tag anyone you want in this post btw I want ableds to understand

geoff and john naclerio about ray in 2002 from not the life it seems/norman brannon about ray and geoff on his instagram story in 2022

like one of the really remarkable things about ray is not just how talented he is, because there are hundreds of insane guitar freaks out there, but how he's that talented and also capable of cooperating as a single element of a band for such a long long time. he went around confusing hardcore/punk kids who drew false conclusions about him because of his metal roots, he obsessively lay down like a dozen guitar tracks for the songs on bullets but also adamantly refused to let geoff and alex saavedra secretly retrack otter's messy drum tracks because they were friends, he was fully supportive of mikey learning bass from scratch to be in the band, and, despite some initial nerves about frank joining, he went on to form one of the most interesting and cooperative dual guitar partnerships i've ever heard with him and has never expressed anything less than deep admiration at frank's playing...he's a rare specimen for sure. truly in his lane, unbothered, focused, flourishing lol

PSA: bot comments are taking over ao3

The above examples have been provided with the authors' permission to demonstrate what these look like.

Basic rundown:

  • They are all 3 sentences long
  • Perfect grammar, capitalization, and punctuation
  • Like absolutely flawless English teacher-style writing with only a single exclamation mark, ever
  • No mentions whatsoever of character names, settings, situations, or anything that could be tied to the story
  • The usernames may be identical to people who exist on ao3, but the name is not clickable, and no profile is associated with it EXCEPT when you directly search for that name. What this means: the comments come from an unregistered (not logged in) reader, bots scrape the site for real usernames, attach that to the comment, and post

Please spread the word about this so authors can filter comments and report them accordingly

There has been some speculation about why this is happening at all, and the best guess is that this is a feature that AI-training story-scraping tools are implementing to try and make their browsing traffic look legitimate

The hog badger (Arctonyx collaris), also known as greater hog badger, is a terrestrial mustelid native to Central and Southeast Asia. Its appearance generally resembles the European badger, but it is generally smaller, with larger claws on the front feet. Its tail has long white hairs, and its front feet have white claws. It has medium-length brown hair, stocky body, white throat, two black stripes on an elongated white face and a pink, pig-like snout. The head-and-body length is 22–28 inches, the tail measures 4.7–6.7 inches and the body weight is 15–31 lbs. With weights regularly reported from 19 to 26 lbs it is one of the world’s largest terrestrial extant mustelids going on average body mass.

I think I'm a lifelong cryptid enthusiast because I'm nearsighted. Like what do you mean the Patterson-Gimlin film isn't crystal clear. That's how bigfoot would look to me anyway.

We have GOT to stop being assholes to people with receding and balding hairlines. There's not a single person that it can't affect. It affects trans men, particularly on hormones, it affects trans women, particularly those not on hormones, it affects people with endocrine issues, something that's becoming more prevalent and common, and it can affect people without a particular cause, including cis women. It's a normal part of being human and we NEED to stop dehumanizing and humiliating ppl for it

My bf started losing his hair in his early 20s and the effect it's had on him is devastating.

He's an actor and he was dropped by his agent after he stopped hiding his hair loss. The roles he was cast in narrowed and shifted from more heroic characters to villains, and eventually he became so miserable about it that he stopped going to auditions altogether.

He used to enjoy dyeing his hair bright colours, and he lost that means of self expression. It alienated him from his own appearance, which knocked him back in coming out and exploring his queerness. The way he talks about it often feels dysmorphic. He says shaving makes him feel like he's "rotting" - like he's "scraping the mold off [his] head".

I've seen drunk people and teenagers yell at him in the street and mock his baldness. I've seen people come up to him and slap his head or touch it without asking for permission. I've witnessed this behaviour from other trans people and women who I know would absolutely kick off if he took such a degrading or entitled attitude towards a part of their body, but seem to think it's OK to do it to him.

Since going bald people perceive him as more masculine. He feels people are more suspicious of him. Women are less likely to approach him. Folks are quicker to put him in a box or misread his behaviour as aggressive or threatening, when the reality is that he's neurodivergent and can't conform to rigid social norms.

Baldness is a heavily gendered characteristic. If someone is conventionally masculine enough and/or is protected by other intersecting powers and privileges (eg wealth) then baldness can reinforce their maleness and the harm to their social standing is minimised. But if their performance of maleness is complicated by something like queerness or disability, it creates a dissonance. They have what is perceived as a hypermasculine trait standing in sharp contrast with their refusal/failure to perform normative, idealised masculinity.

And that's how baldness is typically read - as failure. Especially when it exists outside of wealthy, successful, heterosexual masculinity but tbh even there too - just look at all the jokes about Jeff Bezos' baldness or Elon Musk getting hair plugs. It's similar to insulting Trump over his weight. Like yeah fuck those guys but all you're really doing is revealing to the fat and bald people in your life that you think their bodies are deserving of mockery.

And God help you if you're a bald woman. All women with receding hairlines are at a huge risk from transmisogyny.

Sorry for the essay. Baldness is absolutely a body neutrality issue. It's an ageism issue, and a trans issue, and I WISH there was a broader recognition of this.

by the way gerard way is hard of hearing and wears a hearing aid. by the way gerard way can’t see well without glasses/lenses. by the way frank iero has chronic pain. and needs to alleviate that all the time. by the way frank iero has chronic stomach illnesses. by the way mikey way had lasik surgery to correct his vision. by the way all members of my chemical romance have had mental health issues. by the way, my chemical romance is a band compromised of disabled people and that is not a fucking bad word.

btw ray toro also wears glasses btw frank iero has derealisation episodes gerard has psychotic and manic ones and mikey has manic ones btw ray toro has separation anxiety btw mcr is made up of addicts mentally ill people and physically disabled people and none of these are bad words go fuck yourself if you disagree.

the thing that gets me abt fanfiction/fandom culture is that fan authors want to be taken seriously but dont want the consequences that come with it. they'll scream about how fanfic is legit liturate and an art form in its own right and that Romeo and Juliet and Dante's Inferno are all fanfiction, but as soon as you say 'okay. let's analyze it like real literature. let's critique it like real literature. let's call out the racism and misogyny and sexualization of kids and such' and then it's back to 'it's just FANFICTION, it's not that deep shut up!!'
