a few tips about favela5/brazilian culture if you want as reference to write fics

  • forever and mike have very strong accents, but forever's carioca accent tends to make him drag the words or extend consonants or add almost a hiss (categorized by the dragged -s) sound at the end of a word, while mike has a very strong center-west accent, meaning that his -r is very accentuated
  • pac and cellbit are from the south of brazil
  • although cellbit is from rio grande do sul, he doesn't have a southern accent, instead he has a paulista (from são paulo) accent, which is considered very neutral
  • brazilians tend to be very touchy, so if this is something u want to work with and showcase as a cultural difference, go crazy.
  • brazilians love to hug/touch and kiss people on the cheek to greet them.
  • black coffee. none of that iced vanilla late americanized shit. if you want to talk about their coffee habits, it's almost always going to be no sugar or milk and hot.
  • brazilians can understand almost everything in spanish, esp mexican spanish. the same doesn't apply to spanish speakers because portuguese has phonemes that don't exist in spanish. so like how cellbit said once, he can understand 90% of everything that roier says, while roier said he can understand 20%

a few extra facts about ccs!favela5

  • cellbit, mike and pac lived together for a few years
  • pac and mike lived in canada together (their vlogs there are super nice, idk if they have subtitles tho D:)
  • pac and mike are the equivalent of captain sparkles to the brazilian mc community
  • felps and cellbit have been best friends for around 12 years

Imagine my shock as a neurodivergent teen when I first realized that using large vocabulary and eloquent speech doesn't make you less likely to be misinterpreted, rather it adds an entirely new layer of misinterpretation I had never even realized existed in the form of people thinking you're being snobbish or condescending when you're just trying to be specific

one of the hills i'll die on is that c!emerald duo is one of the healthiest long term relationships. yes, they compliment each other perfectly with how they express their emotions and all that but when it comes down to it, there's one thing that stands out:

the mutual respect and confidence in their relationship to not see eye-to-eye on everything. they don't always agree, but they're able to accept that as a natural part of, like, relationships.

anyway, emerald duo are everything.

Breaking my silence when it comes to emerald duo I like the “brothers in arms” dynamic the best, especially on qsmp

Something about them being ancient souls who have an impenetrable bond

q!Phil hasn’t seen q!Techno in thousands of years but he fondly tells his son and granddaughter Chayanne and Tallulah about the greatest man and warrior the universe has ever known, a glimmer in his eye as if he’s reliving their adventures together right in that very moment.

His son, q!Wilbur, listens to these stories that he’s heard a million times before with a sort of nostalgic love and reverence for “big brother uncle techno”, planning right then and there to tell Tallulah about the time he caught Technoblade rolling in the mud as soon as Phil is out of earshot.

Phil said on stream that Techno initially planned for c!Phil and c!Techno having a falling out due to c!Phil betraying him, but Phil was so sad about it and wanted the duo to be them against the world that Techno decided not to do it because he didn’t want to make Phil sad.

And that’s so. I am so happy they did not do that. They are one of the closest and functioning relationships on a server full of so much falling outs and distrust. They have been through the thick and thin of everything, have accompanied each other for centuries. It is fresh air to have that on the server.
