so nice to see the baby that played renesmee grown up and getting work
I think what really makes this is that his American accent is perfect, he clearly has no issues with English, it's just that the way we spell words is complete bullshit.
Definitely one of the Top Images of all time I gotta say
Winona Ryder in Heathers (1988) Natalia Dyer in Stranger Things (2016)

A cute family story.
There's a history of pickled beets in my family. Growing up in the great depression meant that for my grandma that was sometimes the only thing available to eat and she HATES them. But my grandpa loved them so she would always buy a jar and when he opened the jar she'd be all the way in the next room and somehow just KNOW he was opening the jar of beets. She'd come running into the kitchen just to tell him 'yuck!'
Years pass, grandpa died, my dad got into the habit of taking her out to eat at places with a salad bar so we could make sure we all get our greens. He'd always pick out a few pickled beets for himself. Grandma would point at them and say 'yuck!'
Years pass, my grandma is getting on in years. She has a Facebook account, but she just kind of treats it like a family newsletter and barely actually interacts with anyone and just kind of lurks. She has an aide to help her around the house and keep her company and do things that are hard for her. She can't really type anything because last month she had a stroke that messed with her spatial reasoning and typing is hard.
A few days ago, I told Facebook that I had pickled beets on a taco and it was pretty good. My grandmother, age 96, alerted her aide that it was imperative that she reply. And so her aide Naiya, age 22, on behalf of the matriarch of the family, got on her Facebook specifically to tell me...
'Yuck.'

Using tumblr is like living in a low class apartment building. You just get used to the landlord not fixing things, and then someone new moves in and you're helpfully like "oh yeah don't drink the tap water, it's got stuff in it that makes you sick" and then your neighbor you've had forever goes "oh they took the stuff out actually" and you're like "what? when was this?"
"like two years ago"
"you mean i could've been drinking the tap water all this time?"
"yeah. they gave us individual mailboxes too finally, you don't have to dig through the communal bin anymore"
"are you for real right now?? i just redirected my mail, i didnt know"
and the new tennant is like "why did you guys even live here if it was so bad"
"we like it."
"I kinda miss the communal mail bin tho"
"the perpetually naked guy got evicted though"
"i know, so sad. he was really gross"
"i mean, his cousin streaks through the commons sometimes and knocks on all the doors"
"oh yeah, hate that guy"
Calvin and Hobbes still relevant 25 years later.
"my shitty reblogs" "heres where i post cringe content" well i think my sonic fanart should be put in a museum. rip to you i guess
They should take his shirt off and show his armpit with steam and sweat
Something needs to be done about teachers who hate kids tbh
My sister is currently getting her doctorate in child psychology & education, but years ago she worked as a substitute english teacher at a high school in nyc. She spent half a year subbing for a woman who was out for surgery, and had been teaching english there for years and years. Most of the kids in this class were remedial; they had failed english before and had to retake it. Most of them hated the class, and they hated literature, because they had been made to feel unintelligent. My sister decided to introduce them to poetry, which was a little easier to digest than long form prose, and had them read Robert Frost's "Fire and Ice." And the kids loved it! They connected with it, they were spirited and engaged in class for the first time all year. They wrote their own poetry! They started seeking out and reading poetry on their own! They were all on track to get a C, B or A in that class. And then the original teacher returned and failed every single student, to "teach them all a lesson". That was the moment my sister decided to go into administration so she could hopefully prevent that sort of thing from happening. But it's difficult. Despite numerous complaints from parents and other teachers, that teacher had a job there for decades. She continued to have a job there. There are a lot of teachers like her, wielding power and taking their frustrations out on kids, especially disabled and remedial kids. And students have so few advocates in the classroom.
This post has turned into teachers complaining that this behavior is understandable because of burnout, low wages, etc and like. Ok then quit lmao. If you treat my kid like this because of "burnout" I'm gonna burn out your fucking teeth
The problems are systemic but you still don't get to abuse people because your life sucks. You're not being held at gunpoint and forced to make kids hate learning and feel like failures. It's not THAT systemic.
Were they legit thinking about giving Spongebob a bulge in the first movie?

Bus stops with no places to sit down should be illegal. I mean this in the most genuine literal way possible.
Buses are the last line of defense and way to be independent for people who can't drive or walk for long distances (me). If I walk to the stop (already painful) and have to stand there for ten minutes waiting with no seats or benches, is that really accessible? And what about people with a lot more pain and mobility issues than me? All I really have to deal with is moderate foot pain, and that still has me leaning on a wall or sitting down on dirty pavement if I miss the bus and have to wait for the next one in 15 minutes/half an hour. There should be at least one seat at every bus stop. Yes, even the non-covered ones. If you're going to have kneeling buses and priority seating and pretend to care about disabled folks in that way, at least do this too.
also a covering to protect from the elements
i love when boomers complain about shit like this because as a fast food worker i would literally rather walk out into the lobby and shoot myself in the head than suggest more than one menu item to a customer
Yeah former 8 year Starbucks employ here. This never happens. I’ve have had what amounts to a flip on this happen more often. Something like
“Welcome in what can I get you”
“I want a plain black coffee”
“All rights wha-“
“No sugar or cream or flavor or anything else.”
“Okay, got it, wha-“
“I don’t want no caramachmocha flippy-do’s or frappachina-what-it’s. Just. A plain ol regular black coffee”
“That’s great sir, now please wha”
That one friend who takes sneezing to a whole new level.
