Striped Wrist Warmer Pattern

My family has big hands so I had a hard time finding a pattern. Most were for kids or baggy when I wanted something more snug. Heres a pattern for all you fellow big-handed people

Heres the side that shows how the transitions between stripes will look

━━━━━━♡you will need♡━━━━━━

  • Medium weight yarn in however many colors you want (i got ~100 g skeins from dollar tree and they were plenty. Could have made both from just one)
  • Size H/5mm/#8 crochet hook
  • Scissors

━━━━━━♡abbreviations ♡━━━━━

  • Ch = Chain
  • Sl St = Slip Stitch
  • SC = Single Crochet
  • DC = Double Crochet

━━━━━━♡pattern♡━━━━━━

Ch 2 will count as a Dc

Row 1: Ch 32, sl st last ch into first ch, ch 2
Row 2: Dc in each stitch (31 Stitches total) , joint with a sl st, ch 2 (here is where you put it on your wrist to make sure it fits how you want. If not, add or decrease 2 stitches at a time until the fit is right)
Row 3: Dc 30, join (color change now by slipping color B thru the sl st) , ch 2
Row 4: Dc 29, join, ch 2
Row 5: Dc 28, join (color change) , ch 2
Row 6: Dc 27, join , ch 2
Row 7: Dc 26, join (color change) , ch 2
Row 8: Dc 25, join, ch 2
Row 9: Dc 24, join, (color change) ch 2
Row 10-14: Dc 23, join, ch 2 (color change on rows 11 and 13)
Row 15: Dc 19, ch 4, skip 4 stitches and sl st to the first stitch of row 15 (color change) , ch 2
Row 16: Dc 23, join, ch 2
Row 17: Dc 23, join, finish project

I hope none of that was too confusing, this is my first time making a pattern. If theres anything unclear please tell me amd if you use this I definitely want to see how it came out. Happy crafting!

look, im not the biggest fan of lana del rey  BUT one thing she said in an interview was basically, find someone with your dream life, then learn how they did it. basically, know what you want and learn how to get there.

  • have role models- find people who have qualities you admire. now don’t worship people (thats just weird) but have people to look up to.
  • learn from your role models- don’t worship people, but find traits in your role models that you want to have. find what they did from their success, keep learning and growing. 
  • who do you want to be?- what habits will you have? what hobbies? what things do you want to get out of your life, and what do you want to enter in?

self growth

when you know what you want, now you need to go for it. put your plan into action.

  • develop healthy habits- once you have an idea of who you want to be, and what you want to do, start putting the work in. do the things your best self would do.
  • discover your talents- find passions and work for them. you don’t need to be good to start. just find something and work for it! 
  • find things you love- know yourself. discover music, discover your style, your favorite things. know more about yourself
  • find your signature look- trends come and go, so find a style you love and begin to explore your own look.
  • romanticize your life- do things to make your life more beautiful. be grateful, play the music you love, find the beauty in everything.

The Two Minute Rule by David Allen

- best for small tasks such as chores and smaller work tasks (sending emails, sharing feedback, etc)

1. The two-minute rule aims to banish procrastination and help people accomplish small tasks.

2. Here’s what the rule says: if you can do an action in two minutes or less, tackle it at the moment — and don’t delay. This has the potential to deliver long-term benefits.

Temptation Bundling

- habit stacking method

1. Temptation bundling is a concept that came out of behavioral economics research performed by Katy Milkman at The University of Pennsylvania. Simply put, the strategy suggests that you bundle a behavior that is good for you in the long-run with a behavior that feels good in the short-run.

2. Only do (what you love) while doing (what you’re procrastinating).

Eg: only do (pedicures) while (answering work emails).

Only (watch your fave tv show) while (ironing your clothes).

The Ivy Lee Method

1. At the end of each work day, write down the six most important things you need to accomplish tomorrow. Do not write down more than six tasks.

2. Prioritize those six items in order of their true importance.

3. When you arrive tomorrow, concentrate only on the first task. Work until the first task is finished before moving on to the second task.

4. Approach the rest of your list in the same fashion. At the end of the day, move any unfinished items to a new list of six tasks for the following day.

5. Repeat this process every working day

when it comes to debating or professional settings, if you want to be perceived as more put together, then heres my advice :)

mannerisms:

  • have good posture!
  • maintain good hygeine
  • look clean and put together
  • always have fresh breath and clean teeth
  • having a good scent to you always helps
  • make eye contact with people
  • speak in a clear tone
  • don’t raise your voice, be able to speak calmly (i’m talking about when you debate with people, yelling is just kinda rude and makes other people scared lol, also doesn’t look mature)
  • work on not interupting people, let other people talk!
  • walk with your head up high! this goes with posture, walk like you have a crown on your head :)
  • take care of yourself and work to better yourself

attitude:

  • educate yourself
  • be open minded
  • be self-aware about your short comings
  • know when to keep your mouth shut and when to not engage in conflict
  • stay out of drama
  • don’t let other people bring you down
  • always act confident
  • eliminate self-depricating humor
  • remember- bringing other people down is insecure behavior!
  • show respect and manners to other people
  • be kind to other people, give them compliments, smile
  • be open to other points of view, really listen to other people and reflect

A Guide To Effortless Beauty

Makeup

It's been said that the "full beat" makeup trend of the late 2010s is no longer in style, and I agree. The makeup cycle has gone from #fullglam to #cleangirl in 5 years. Today we are talking about my favorite happy medium #soft glam.

Ladies, if you want to stand out among the crowd or even just feel like the best version of yourself, a soft beat is a way to go!

Rules of Thumb

  • Keep your brows shaped and filled in.
  • Practice makeup application daily until you find your happy medium with products. (I personally utilize concealer and setting powder for a no-makeup makeup-baked look)
  • Wear moderate lashes ( Soft glam usually looks best with lash extensions or moderately length mink lashes)
  • Utilize a brown lip line with your shade of nude lipstick and gloss to give that extra pop of effortless glam.
  • Eyeliner, eyeshadow, and blush are optional.

Skin Care

Skincare is the foundation of all things beauty. A daily skincare routine is essential to minimize and maintain blemishes. Soft glam is about a fresh face with a pop of "I KNOW YOU SEE ME"!

Rules of Thumb

  • I recommend committing to a twice-daily skincare routine both morning and evening.
  • Make sure to wake up early enough to wash your face and apply all the necessary products before beginning makeup application.
  • Plan weekly deep cleanse for the face ( I like to plan my mask for the evening so they can be set without rushing).
  • I suggest buying skin care products as needed and try not to overstimulate your face.

Hair

Hair can make or break a look. Imagine looking your best, but your hair is all over the place. It's an oxymoron. You should never shorthand your feminine routine by neglecting your hair. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, styling and maintaining your hair is always necessary when executing a soft glam look.

Rules of Thumb

  • Practice makes perfect; carve out time in your schedule to master simple styles such as curls and crimps.
  • Make sure your lace is always melted!
  • Natural hair beauties treat your hair with conditions and detangling as often as your hair type requires.
  • Create a mood board and set a goal to master each hairstyle.
  • Deep condition and silicone treat wigs in between each install.
  • Natural hair beauties master twist outs, edges and ponytails for a polished on-the-go look at all times.
