My Thoughts on Yancy
Yancy doesn’t love us.
He hardly knows us.
But he was definitely interested in us.
Yancy knows literally all the ways out of prison, but chooses to stay. And rightfully so. He did some horrible shit. He murdered both his parents who Mark has confirmed to have been loving and supportive. Yancy stays in prison because he’s repentant. He doesn’t want to leave. He wants to pay for what he did. (I also think he stays due to the treatment not being that bad, and uses it as justification for staying longer than he’s supposed to. - he’s been offered parole several times)
However, Yancy also encounters Y/N, and in under an hour, he’s clearly grown some sort of fondness. Mark confirms Y/N earned Yancy’s respect through fighting him and their determination to leave. Yancy then refers to Y/N as handsome/beautiful and commits to helping break them out of prison. Yancy helps Y/N out, but blindfolds then because he doesn’t want them to break him out. Breaking Yancy out of prison, as Mark states, would directly go against his wishes and ultimately would be harmful and the wrong thing to do.
But Yancy does agree, after suggestion from Y/N, that he would consider parole. Now. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t consider completely abandoning everything I stood for if I didn’t atleast have some sort of affection for the person I was abandoning everything for. Yancy also personally welcomes Y/N coming to see him during visitation.
I don’t think Y/N should break him out. I think really, that the only acceptable and reasonable redemption for Yancy would be visiting him every third Sunday. I think Yancy would seriously consider taking parole if, through visitation, he developed a friendship with Y/N. I think Yancy would only fall in love with Y/N when he’s on the outside, in a healthier mindset as well as environment.
So. Yancy doesn’t love us. But he could.
Can I just say that Mark sounds so different through Sean’s video, it’s like 2017 Mark for some reason.
Also the mood and tone are different..? I’m not very sure but he sounds “deeper”. It feels so weird.
But please do more collaborations, it has been sooooooooooooooo long since last time...
