the same blastoise.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but this feels vaguely relevant…
Have I ever hit “reblog” so fast? No.
windows 10 is garbage so every time i boot up the computer i have to run command prompt and enter
net.exe stop “Windows Search”
so that the shitty goddamned search/cortana feature that i never fucking use stops running in the background taking up all my fucking disk space
before
after
what the fuck is that seriously what the fuck is making my computer be a fucking piece of shit
@baristaboy try this out dude
y’all didn’t even add a tutorial of how to do this so imma put one right here 1. type in cmd.exe into your windows search and right click on Command Promt search result and select “Run as Administator”. 2. Type/Copypase in net.exe stop “Windows Search” and make sure Windows Search is in quotations. It should then respond saying “The Windows Search service is stopping” and then tell you it’s stopped. This is only a temp fix though, if you want it switched off permanently then do THIS: 1. Press the Windows key + R at the same time and type in services.msc. 2. Scroll until you find Windows Search and double click it to enter its Properties window. 3. Change the Startup type to Disabled. Apply this change and you can exit out. VOILA, NO MORE TAKEN UP DISK SPACE
Reblog to save a fucking life, FUCK CORTANA.
Street harassment is not a compliment.
Did i reblog this already? Doesnt matter still relevant.
The true deadly sins
Lust
Not a sin- feeling sexual attraction, sex with consenting partners, masturbation, consuming pornographic media, having several sexual partners, sex before mariage. IT’S A SIN WHEN- the person projects lust onto an unwilling recipient person and does not take into account their wants or consent. Rape, harassment, sexual assault, catcalling, dick pics.
Gluttony
Not a sin- food, enjoying food, cooking, eating sweets, eating meat. In the larger sense, accumulating material things you enjoy, like books or collectibles or whatever. IT’S A SIN WHEN- It deprives other people of what they need.
Envy
Not a sin: Wanting things you see other people have, like money, power, fame. IT’S A SIN WHEN: This is how you define people, and stop respecting them as humans. It’s a sin when you use them for what they have and what they can bring you.
Greed
Not a sin: Wanting financial security, working hard for the things you want. IT’S A SIN WHEN: Your own financial growth depends on keeping other people impoverished and suffering.
Pride
Not a sin: Being proud of your accomplishments, liking your looks, dressing up IT’S A SIN WHEN: It stops you from accepting your faults and seeing how you can be wrong, not admitting that you can better yourself.
Wrath
Not a sin: Righteous anger at situations, being mistreated, seeing other people suffer, at the injustice of the world. Self-defense. Revolution. IT’S A SIN WHEN: Violence towards defenceless people, hitting your partner or your kids,. Violence fuelled by intolerance and bigotry.
Sloth
Not a sin: Resting. Sleeping. Taking a day or a year off. Being unproductive. Playing videogames. IT’S A SIN WHEN: You stay inactive when action is required. When people need you and you’d rather do nothing.
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT AND GIVES POWER BACK TO SO MANY PEOPLE
There’s another definition of Gluttony that is less about food specifically and more about extravagance and wastefulness. For example, it is Gluttonous for a nobleman to provide himself with a feast that he cannot possibly eat himself when his countrymen are starving. It is Gluttonous for someone to horde their money and never use it despite having a lot of it.
This definition overlaps with Greed and Sloth a bit, but I like it because it gives you a little more thematic wiggle room if you’re trying to design a set of characters or locations after the seven deadly sins and you don’t want to make Gluttony THE FOOD ONE.

Tama is boss
THE TRAINS HAVE CARTOON TAMAS ON THEM
Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who haven’t read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. She’s now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.
Beautiful.
Now I’m crying thanks
and a new cat was hired right?
yep! her name is Nitama (essentially ”second tama” or “tama II”) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy
she works very hard
Everytime this crosses my dash, I reblog. It is the law.
I’m crying at 11pm over train cats
Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.
^Nitama majestic, and below with Yontama
Yontama.
a legacy
okay but actually what happened to santama (or sun-tama-tama, which is her name because it’s a pun on santama) was that she was basically sent to train for the position in okayama and they liked her so much they refused to send her back
“Sun-tama-tama” (a pun off of “Santama”, lit. “third Tama”) was a calico cat sent for training in Okayama. Sun-tama-tama was considered as a candidate for Tama’s successor, but the Okayama Public Relations representative who had been caring for Sun-tama-tama refused to give the cat up writing, “I will not let go of this child, she will stay in Okayama.” [25]
As of September 2018, Sun-tama-tama is working as the stationmaster in Naka-ku, Okayama and appears occasionally on Tama’s Twitter account.
Every time I see this post there’s new info and it gets better
You are only allowed to scroll pass this after you pay tribute to the great Tama Station masters.
The shrine of Tama Daimyōjin (Great gracious deity Tama), next to the Kishi station where she worked.
Nitama presenting her yearly offerings to Tama Daimyōjin on the anniversary of Tama’s Death, June 23 (The offerings are presented by the company president, as Nitama is a cat and thus can’t hold the offerings herself) (Not pictured, but also present, Yontama)
you cannot pass without reblogging guys. i’m sorry, i don’t make the rules.
Imagine: Its 2025. You’re getting pulled over. A community representative approaches to let you know you have a taillight out. They don’t need your license and registration, they don’t write you a fix-it ticket. You’re back on the road in less than five minutes. You swing by the store and grab a new light, not because you’re afraid of what the city will do to you, but because you respect your community and know that having all your lights working is part of the driving privilege.
Your neighbors got into a loud spat a few weeks ago and without fear or hesitation, called a domestic assistance number. A counselor arrived and was able to talk the couple down and suggest solutions for their disagreement. No one was hurt, the kids participated in the discussion, and it’s been quiet ever since.
Your friend has been struggling with addiction and you fear they might be a danger to themselves or others. You call a substance abuse specialist and they talk you through ways to help your friend get treatment. They offer to send an agent out to speak with your friend directly and provide information on harm reduction centers in your area.
Black and brown people are no longer being exploited through tickets and fines to pay for police. Trust is slowly being fostered in the community.
Teachers are being paid a living wage and students are being given more time, attention, and education. Books are up to date and classrooms are optimized to keep up with technology.
Trump is out of office.
It’s been a very long time since the name of a murdered black person was used as a hashtag.
Casual racism is no longer tolerated. The KKK has been classified as a terrorist organization. The Confederate flag isnt flown and has been removed from any official state flags or insignias. Most Confederate monuments have been taken down and placed in storage or museums.
You trust the investigation force to deal with crime the same way you trust firefighters to put out fires.
That’s what ‘defund the police’ looks like. What we’ve seen in the last few weeks shows how overreaching and power-drunk many officers are. We asked too much of them and then called them heroes despite evidence to the contrary. We let them think that they could get away with anything, including murder. Its time for change.
Copied and pasted.
Read this post, then reread it again.
Signal boost
It’s not about the end of “to protect and serve.” It’s about bringing it BACK to “to protect and serve” as opposed to “act as judge, jury, and executioner and violate peoples’ rights because cops are scared people with power who are dealing with things they were never trained to deal with, or who were trained WAY wrong on how to deal with it, or who are just assholes to begin with.
“Some people” are just mad that cops would no longer be randomly arresting/killing people who those “some people” see as lesser beings.
“Good cops”
I need this to be watched by the masses.
This is the simplest explination ever and people still don’t wanna hear it.
Friendly reminder that hating Pokemon Unite isn't just about ""no Sinnoh remakes or no let's Go Johto"".
Fucking Tencent is the one making it.
Tencent is known for spyware, punishes those who support the Hong Kong protests, are KNOWN to rip off larger companies or buy out larger companies if they're seen as competition, are extremely rampant with censorship of any kind, and were receiving personal information from Apple such as I.P Addresses, and the CEO is extremely honored by the communist party that supports Muslim concentration camps.
This company is absolutely fucking garbage and it's pretty obvious from the comment section of the video that everyone who knows about Tencent is chiming in with them dipping the moment they announced it was made by them.
And if that's not enough to stop you from wanting to play tencent has driven many players who actually did enjoy their games away due to the rampant cheating that occurs and isn't dealt with in their other online games. They're known to try and milk their gamers for money with pay to win deals and from the sounds of it ""free to start"" means you'll have to pay eventually no matter what and then continue to keep paying in order to succeed or advance in later levels due to the pay to win structure.
For those who are excited about this there are LITERALLY so many other games on this oversaturated market that spent time on their back grounds, and textures, and design that dont make them look like a dollar store rip off game. Please look into literally anything else.
Pokemon Unite is NOT the way to go
I'm sure that people in the videos comments did a MUCH better job of explaining the dangers of tencent instead of me and theyre most likely a lot more well aware of the first hand experience with them. But please just take my word for it when I say that the ""unfair hate around this game because it's not a Sinnoh Remake"" is bullshit.
There's hate for a reason
I’ll admit I was skeptical of these points bc there are no links or resources to back em up, so I did a little research.
So Tencent is a ridiculously large conglomerate holding company whose investments in video games ALONE pile up fast:
(Outside of video games, Tencent also invests in “search engine[s], e-commerce, retail, real estate, software, virtual reality, ride-sharing, banking, financial services, fintech, consumer technology, computer technology, automobile, film production, movie ticketing, music production, space technology, natural resources, smartphones, big data, agriculture, medical services, cloud computing, social media, IT, advertising, streaming media, artificial intelligence, robotics, UAVs, food delivery, courier services, e-book, internet services, education, and renewable energy.” Needless to say, the company has a LOT of influence and power.)
Regarding OP’s mention of the Hong Kong protests -- Tencent made a partnership with the NBA to secure rights to stream its U.S. games in China, but in October 2019, when Houston Rockets general manager Morey expressed support for the protesters in Hong Kong, “Tencent began sending out refunds to customers after cancelling the broadcast of NBA games" due to NBA executive manager Adam Silver’s support of Morey’s “freedom of political expression.” (x)
Regarding OP’s mention of censorship -- oh boy there’s a lot of info that proves their rampant censorship. Most notably, Tencent owns the social media app WeChat (which has “a billion active daily users”) and uses it to facilitate Chinese government surveillance and censorship. Millions of WeChat conversations were found to be relayed to police; people have been interrogated and arrested due to their private conversations. (There have been ”penalties against numerous WeChat users for mocking President Xi Jinping, criticizing judicial officials, commenting on massive floods, sharing information about human rights abuses, or expressing views related to their persecuted religion or ethnicity.”) Also, WeChat SIGNIFICANTLY distorts the news available to its users by using AI to find and delete select topics (including in 2018, the “deletions from some 4,000 public accounts...[of] major news stories like the U.S.-China trade dispute, the arrest in Canada of Huawei chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou, the #MeToo movement and public health scandals”). (x)
Regarding OP’s mention of ripping off other companies -- Tencent’s founder and chairman, Pony Ma, has famously said, “[To] copy is not evil.” There are plenty of allegations and remarks out there about his inclination toward copying.
Regarding OP’s mention of Apple -- at least in iOS 13, Apple’s “Safari browser uses Tencent’s Safe Browsing system to help fight malicious webpages--but Tencent may log IP addresses in the process.” Apple’s also had many issues with surveillance and censorship in China. (x)
Regarding OP’s mention of Tencent’s money-grabbing -- their popular technique of gaining revenue from games is to publish “free-to-play” games, such as Pokemon Unite, and then include in-game transactions so people will pay *after* having gotten into the swing of the game.
TL;DR: Tencent is a despicable company whose hand in a Pokemon game should be a red flag. Don’t support this company.
Y-you are an absolute godsend
I didn't expect this post to blow up like it did, but that's probably a poor excuse for no links
Thank you so much for taking the time to find sources 🥺🥺🥺
i say this with no exaggeration but seeing this in a childrens cartoon brought me to tears
I say this with no exaggeration, the only people who should not watch this are those who are avoiding spoilers because they will watch it.
Where Steven Universe explains ptsd, adverse childhood experiences, the mind body relationship regarding stress, and why you might not develop PTSD symptoms until way later. In under two minutes.
David Suzuki in this interview about facing the reality of climate change and other environmental issues from Moyers & Company.
Listen, I liked Sanders. But the Supreme Court is the only thing I care about right now.
If you vote for anyone that isn't the Democrat nominee, we are looking at a 7-2 right-wing SCOTUS. For how long? 30-40 YEARS.
RBG is 87. Breyer is 81. Chances of them making it to 2024 are not great.
For the record, I think this system is FUCKED and this isn't how SCOTUS composition should be decided, but it is how it is right now.
If you care about the rights of women, of minorities of any kind, you really need to vote for the democrat nominee. No third parties or write ins. No abstaining. And for crying out loud, no assuming that Trump won't win even if you don't vote. VOTE BLUE.
Joe Biden is chemo. Chemo sucks and sorta tries to kill you, but you take it because it kills your cancer faster.
The current state of affairs with regards to how the country’s being run? Cancer.
Bernie Sanders would have been a surgery that cuts the tumor out without long-term damage, but from the looks of it we’re at the point where that’s not a viable option.
Not voting is essential oils: it smells nice and does nothing.
Reblogging for one of the best analogies of this election cycle I’ve ever read.

one person, for the fifth time: my parents are dead
everyone else, also for the fifth time: you cut out a little there what was that?
PSA for literally everyone, I am SO tired of explaining this extremely simple fix to people
PSA PSA for those who might not be able to read what this tiny ass screenshot says + without the unnecessary passive-aggressiveness:
- Go to Voice & Video settings.
- Turn off Automatically Determine Audio Sensitivity.
- Move the slider over to the left to suit your sensitivity (avoid pushing it all the way to the left to cushion possible background noise).
- This should prevent you from cutting out so long as said issues aren’t because of Microphone or Connection issues. Great fix for those with quiet voices or garbage microphones.
Here’s a screenshot of that for our visual learners. It’s a mobile screenshot, but desktop Discord looks exactly the same, just wider.
How hard was it to just explain that nicely?
AHH I’VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS POST FOR MONTHS AND HAVE BEEN WISHING SOMEONE COULD BRING IT BACK THANK YOU SO MUCH
I call upon every single Kamen Rider fan around the world! Now, more than ever, we need to give this as much attention as possible, if we want Kamen Rider to be a thing in the west!
Reblog it everywhere, reblog it to everyone!
LET OUR DREAM BECOME A REALITY!
Archaeologists: “Uhhhh, there’s still a lot of debate about how effective leather armor really could have been on a battlefield. Alas, we shall never know.”
Punks: “Hey, fresh cut, the boneheads carry knives sometimes so make sure and lift a good leather jacket. It’ll save your life.”
Layers layers layers! Slashes won’t do shit even to most t shirts but a stab will ignore the shit outa your leathers. Layers will keep the blade from getting as deep as it otherwise would and gives more for it to snag on if it serrated.
Armour has always been about layers.
Example 1200s minor noble: linen shirt, gambeson (layered and quilted linen with wool insulation), chain mail, surcoat, arming cap, helmet, coif, bigger helmet.
Another example Alexander era Macedonian hoplite: linen tunic, greaves, 1" of tightly pressed and laminated linen, helmet (probably with some sort of arming cap/padding inside), big ass shield.
Layers save lives.
Yes! Cloth is hard work to cut with a knife. When they were trying to ban (sword) duelling in Europe, they banned people from carrying around shields/bucklers, so your defensive tool was a cloak wrapped around your non-sword fist, with plenty of loose fabric to catch your opponent’s blade. You might get your cloak torn, but you’re less likely to get your skin sliced up, and that’s the important thing.
You know what is a surprisingly amazing material for armor?
Silk.
Silk.
The Mongolians used silk vests because silk isn’t broken by an arrow, and you can use the silk to gently pull the arrow back out, even if it’s barbed. They also often used silk as the backing for leather armor.
The first bulletproof vests were made in Japan and Korea. Out of, yup, silk. Silk could stop black powder bullets, but was rendered obsolete by higher powered modern firearms. A combination of silk and metal was experimented with, but dropped because of the expense of silk.
Franz Ferdinand was wearing one such vest when he was assassinated, but it didn’t help because of where he was hit.
The US military is now looking into something called Dragon Silk, which is spider silk made by GMO silkworms, to make body armor that might be more comfortable than the current kevlar vests.
Silk, people.
You want proof about silk being able to stop an arrow? Try sewing it with the wrong machine needle in place. I have shattered – literally shattered – needles that were too thick. They just will not pass between the tightly woven fibers, even when in a machine that can go through your actual fingers. And that was just a lightweight taffeta, not something woven to be intentionally impenatrable.
It is horrible at stopping slashes, though. Whether by the blade of scissors, roller cutter, or well honed dagger or sword, it just falls to pieces like it never meant to be whole in the first place. This is, again, where your layers come in – a nice heavy leather for slash damage, a dense silk for piercing. You probably want to put something under it though, silk against sweaty skin is unpleasantly sticky. It *clings*. Eww.
Useful things elementary school neglected to teach me, exhibit #5839
I’d also like to point out that this is also reason 1920’s gangsters wore silk suits with silk vest and shirts
Revolting this for my fellow writers
Reblogging for future reference.
Cotton beneath all. Wicks away sweat.
*SOME 1920s gangsters wore silk vests SPECIALLY MADE FOR THAT PURPOSE. They were massively expensive, and not just any old silk waistcoat would do. Also most suits back then were wool; a silk suit would have been massively impractical and, as I said, useless unless it was entirely made of that special semi-bulletproof silk. Which then would have cost a fortune
Also, cotton does wick sweat, but linen is even better for that. Hence why European and Euro-American women wore linen shifts/chemises (a loose, shapeless dress that hit between the knees and the ankles depending on the era) under their clothes for like 500 years
If a book ever says something like “sure, expensive Victorian dresses LOOK pretty, but they couldn’t be washed so they must have smelled bad!” they are stupid, lying, or both. I’ve worn a linen chemise under my dress to an Edwardian tea party in Manhattan in August. By the end of the day, my chemise was disgusting- but my dress (and therefore I in general) smelled of nothing but my weak perfume
Bring back linen underwear 2k20
