*OBX3 SPOILERS*

The problem with this season personally is that it focused way too much on Big John and not enough on their biggest selling point: the pogues. I was expecting a little bit more of them in Poguelandia or at least more scenes with them bonding but pretty soon after meeting Kiara they were separated for like 4 episodes and the season was divided in teams instated of building their relationship as a full on group. John B spends 90% of the time without them.

They stayed one month on a desert island, their relationship has to be super strong and while it is, they don’t explore that beyond 2 scenes of some bonding. It needed the pogues reflecting on how it’s been since coming back from the island. We needed John B and Pope talking to JJ about why he is pushing Kie away. More Kiara and Sarah. More Cleo with the full group and not just Pope. It was chaos and tension and not enough moments to just chill and enjoy.

Sarah’s scenes with Topper were not necessary at all. Aside from helping them with the cross which ultimately was a failed attempt, the whole drama with John B was not needed at all.

I am not satisfied with the time jump and I can see why reviewers thought it gave finale vibes so I am glad season 4 has been confirmed. Too much of missing details on the pogues. What did they do for 18 months after El Dorado? It seems like they have money now? How did it all happen? I feel like that should’ve been a season 4 plot. We missed the start of Cleo/Pope and JJ/Kie’s relationship. The only thing that could redeem them for season 4 is to play the cards now that the pogues are basically legal adults and can own a house to live all 6 of them.
