Cake Compilation, Pt. 1 🍰

Some cakes I've baked over the last few months. All the cake/frosting colors are naturally colored from their respective flavors - no food coloring necessary!

  1. Strawberry-Vanilla cake with strawberry compote filling (not shown), strawberry cream cheese filling/frosting
  2. Red velvet cake with pecan-cocoa filling, cream cheese filling/frosting (Surprise: It was naturally colored with beets!)
  3. Ube-pandan layer cake with young coconut and jackfruit fillings, pandan-flavored whipped cream frosting
  4. Pandan cake with young coconut filling, pandan-flavored whipped cream frosting

Will be posting other highlights from my Cake Hall of Fame

anyone else a little weirded out by one of the first things sonia and rauru did was putting zelda in a little white maiden uwu dress even though the clothes she arrived in didnt seem damaged or dirty at all and fit her much better

(also that dress is way less practical for a battle against a super powered evil guy)

It was probably just to help her fit in better. At any rate, she got her revenge by introducing ancient Hyrule to Cece Fashion, thereby creating LOZ's weirdest canon closed timeloop.

Absolutely goddamn obsessed w this pic the creator of neopets sent after trying and failing to push his shitty nft game to the current playerbase

Why do all these guys look like they came from the same factory?

Touchscreens do not belong in cars

And gauges and dials should be gauges and dials, not screens

Door releases should have a direct mechanical link to a latch, not send an electronic signal to a servo

You should not have to have your phone alive to unlock your car

Most touchscreens have a temperature resistance of less than 40°C (104°F). They do not belong on cars, toasters, ovens and stoves, any kind of safety equipment, or any equipment that requires precision of operation to maintain safety. They do not belong anywhere near a working engine.

Electronics engineer here to weigh in. I 100% agree that every safety-critical system like door entry, ignition, or steering should have a mechanical override available.

That said, if your car is newer than 1995, chances are that the dials on your instrument cluster are computer-controlled servos instead of analog readouts anyway. While resistive touchscreens suffered from accuracy loss in hot weather, most modern cars use capacitive-touch LCD panels with temperature ratings exceeding 55C, making them more reliable than servos simply from the absence of moving parts.

The problem is in the software implementation. An LCD-based instrument panel running bare-metal code that only shows you operation-critical info and replaces unreliable mechanical switches with softkeys? Pretty great idea. Combining that with a Linux-based infotainment system that can crash if there's a media error? Recipe for disaster.

And yeah, don't get me started on the retracting door handles that only pop out when your wireless FOB or phone is detected. Won't deter a single thief but WILL make you unable to enter your own car.
