I'm not the only person who thinks the whole trope or dynamic that's like "person #1 hates person #2 who is constantly annoying them/insulting them/crossing their boundaries but they actually don't hate them and secretly LOVE it and want to FUCK them" is super fucking weird right. I'm not the only one who sees a problem with that. Right
I don't care what people's personal fantasies are! I know why people like this dynamic and I think that's totally fine, read what makes you happy.
I don't find it appealing though! At all! I think purposefully getting somebody riled up is super unnattractive! I hate it when most people touch me without asking first! I think people who purposefully act super cocky all the time or casually talk down to others are super annoying!! Stuff like that is always portrayed as attractive in romantic media and it makes me super uncomfortable.
I would love to get into romantic books or comics but I can't because that's all it is all the time.
I want to read a romantic story where the main characters communicate and treat each other with kindness ans tenderness right off the bat and aren't constantly fighting or crossing eachother's boundaries or hiding their feelings behind insults and hostility and not have it be treated as synonymous with lighthearted banter or typical relationship problems!! PLEASE
anyway. if you have recommendations for romantic books or comics where the people in the relationship are normal to each other I would love that. especially if it's queer. double especially if it's trans or lesbian. triple especially if it's polyamorous
i dont have any recs on the top of my head but i absolutely agree. i hate people touching me, entering my personal space without asking and being purposely annoying !!!
personally the whole trope reminds of adults gelling little girls the boy bullying her is flirting. maybe thats just me but as someone who has dealt with adults like that and has already read these kind of romances they kinda blur
overall its very icky and i think authors should very stop that
