today at dc pride there were rumors of an active shooter and it was the most terrifying moment of my life. while thankfully no shots were taken, this goes to show how fucked up our society is. guns are easily accessible and homophobia and transphobia run rampant (even in liberal places like dc) so nobody even doubted the likelihood of a real shooter being there. i’m so saddened by the fact that it’s 2019 and the lgbtq community can’t even have pride as a safe space without fearing for their lives
