Honestly be pretentious as fuck about the stuff you create. Do a press release for your fanfic updates. Do a Q&A about your webcomic. Make fake merch designs for your OCs. Commission "official" book covers. Very few of us will ever get to a stage where something we've created Makes It Big but even if you have an audience of 5 people plus a shoelace fucking indulge yourself and pretend!! It's the only way to live!!
me constantly releasing press junkets about my OCs like they are actual celebrities and i am their PR agent

HI. I'M NOT DEAD. I JUST BURNED OUT. HERE. FIC. HELP HIM. HE'S SAD.
ive been wondering this for awhile, because im a SUCKER for world building(? would you call it that?) and stuff but… whats the fanbase like? is there a fandom for the channel like there is for hlvrai? (but uh. more alive of course lol.) whats it like? i really wanna know about the general community around the channel…….
related to the fandom bit, do people in the fanbase treat the science team (minus gordon) like real people, or fictional characters? i think about this a lot especially in relation to dr coomer.. considering he seems to have some.. complicated feelings about his nature as artificial intelligence
im also so curious about like. outside opinions of the group… its really funny to imagine theres this group of people DESPERATELY trying to prove that the science team are just played by people and not really AI to no avail LOL i’m imagining like 50+ paragraphs long reddit posts trying to “debunk” them
i think about this verse a lot i have SO many thoughts about it So fucking many. Ok goobyby have a good day:-)
Oh man, the fandom discourse for his channel would be INSANE. Because there's always a vocal percentage of the viewerbase who insists it's all staged, there's people who insist the AIs are characters and thus fair game for shipping without being deemed RPF. And then that makes the true believers mad, because they take it to mean the shippers don't see the Science Team as real people just because of their origins. It gets really messy.
Fortunately, that's just a small cut of the fanbase. Most fans were gripped by the narrative and the humor of the original HLVRAI streams, then stuck around because the group was compelling and interesting. The team are just funny people, and if they're really hyperintelligent (well, that's debatable) AI, then Gordon's streams with them are scientifically fascinating as well as entertaining. If they're not, then they're REALLY GOOD at committing to the bit and that makes them talented performers.
Coomer doesn't like to engage with viewers who constantly try to "debunk" him. Bubby, on his own channel, has fun with them.
"Oh yeah? If I'm a fraud, could I do THIS? AA--" This stream has ended.
Ages ago I made an AU with a friend where some of the Science Team just occasionally made Reddit posts like. Picture of Sunkist in Black Mesa (the team in the background is surrounded by blood) or Benrey making an AITA post about the betrayal lol. This led a part of Gordon's fanbase to believe that the Science Team is laying out an ARG. I feel in the Streamman universe that would be "Several people finding these Reddit posts believe it to be a weird ARG until they find Gordon's actual channel"
I'm not sure that would stop them from thinking it's an ARG.

Wheatley's character is so fucking funny. Like if you look at his character as a whole, all the comments about "they told me if I did this I'd die," his complete desperation for control and power even when it is blatantly obvious he does not have the ability to wield it, that is genuinely fascinating. Wheatley is a genuinely interesting, compelling character. but also his entire character is

There's no one specific fic honestly because I don't mind if someone doesn't get EXACTLY what I was putting down. We've all got our interpretations tainting how we view the series, we've all got our silly brain thoughts. but also one day someone will point out the throughline through all of my benny fics and then i will finally be able to rest
