Alright so I was in Hot Topic today and there was this little girl who was about six, maybe a little younger, and I noticed that she had the Civil War Black Widow funko figure but her brothers were teasing her about girl superheroes and telling her that Natasha isn’t cool like the guys are. After a couple minutes of them teasing her, she was like “Okay, I guess I’ll get the Thanos one then” (she mentioned liking that he was colorful) but one of her brothers, I’m assuming the oldest, continued to pick on her and told her she couldn’t get Thanos because he was getting that one and then went on to tell her she was better off getting one of the Sesame Street or Disney ones because “superheroes aren’t for girls”. I noticed that she hadn’t put the Natasha one down so I acted like I hadn’t heard what happened with her brothers and started talking to her all about Natasha; her strength, the fact that she doesn’t need powers to fight the bad guys, etc. She was so happy and listened so intently when I was telling her all about Nat and that girl superheroes are just as great as boys and it cheered her up so much that she ended up deciding to get the pop. On their way out of the store, the grandparents came up to me and thanked me for telling her that girls can be superheroes too. 

Just being a Nat fan/fan of superheroes in the right place at the right time made my entire day. (Also, end gender stereotypes because it’s stupid af)
